Don't forget John and Joe on the radio.
I don't even know what my local ESPN radio affiliate is.
Don't forget John and Joe on the radio.
I think the biggest problem with baseball (and to a smaller extent the NBA) is that they are starting their games way too late in the evening. The World Series should start with their first pitch at 7:05-7:10 PM ET, which means games will end at a reasonable hour.
If we are talking about the NBA I would love to see them cut the number of teams from 16 to 12. Why have more than half the league allowed to be in the playoffs.![]()
The number of teams baseball has is good. They just need to work on the travel schedule. Why should a wild card team get 2 home games. And I would rework a 7 game series. 2 home 2 away away 1-1-1. Why have it 2-3-2, it is not much of a home field.
While I can sympathize with the viewers on the East Coast, starting World Series games at 7 PM in the eastern time zone would mean that they'd be played mainly during work and drive time for the West Coast.
But the advertising money is at night.
The relationship between the broadcasters and MLB is so close you couldn't slip a piece of paper between them. TV is a huge source of revenue for both, so you can be sure that the Commissioner's Office isn't going to make decisions that would threaten any of that income. If they do anything fan-friendly at all, it's because it also maximizes their revenue.
Another World Series 5 game bust.
On the bright side, now Met fans can feel worse.![]()
