I think these cheaper phones will be for SE Asia only (esp China). Apple seems to be doing quite well in the West without any cheaper options in their model line-ups - remember the cheaper, white MacBook that got dropped a couple of years ago.

So I think the 5S will be everywhere, but the 5C only in specific markets like China, to help Apple get a foothold numerically.

Guess we'll find out in a week or so!

Good lord that's fugly.

It's not just a little ugly, it's super ugly.

They should use colored shaped metals, the same as they did with the iPod Nanos.

My question is, in the video....how come the iOS 7 safari has a black interface? Is it a hidden setting somewhere I'm missing? Or something Apple is saving for the public release?

Its black when you run it in private mode.

So, the background color automatically matches the hardware color, because ...

... that worked so well for Surface?

Apple, don't you understand. I want to be able to ridicule on others about their bad taste of color.
And now you give me iOS 7.

I think it's obvious they are going to drop the 4S out of the lineup for free option and replace it with the 5C in the USA. They need to get rid of the 30 pin connector and the different screen size.

Yeah, Apple definitely lost it's way since the good ol' days of of iPhone 4, iPhone 4S ... and let's not forget, the industry disrupting name: iPhone 3GS.

:D

at least it wasn't the "iPhone 3GS HD Wimax Extreme II"

the display background doesn't look totally solid, there seems to be a sort of texture.

Two things: 1)this is supposed to be a cheaper option and 2)if Apple could make a cheaper iPhone in an iPod touch like body who would buy the flagship model?

Apple might not be concerned about cannibalization with the iPad, but with the iPhone? Absolutely.
