I really like that the Pre has multitasking.

What's the battery life though? The iPhone is fully capable of multitasking (iTunes running in the background) it just doesn't because the battery life goes to crap.

I've heard this before. Didn't the Storm make this claim? That phone is horrible. The video looked like the woman had a hard time bringing that menu thing up from the bottom of the screen. That phone won't compare.

I'm as big an apple fan as most but you have to say that the os is gorgeous. Looks almost like OS X. The phone itself does not look as good as the iPhone but it does have a ton of features I want. It may be a little laggy now but they have six months to clean that up.

Features I want:
Copy and paste
Background apps
Push notification
MMS
System wide spotlight
Threaded SMS, google talk, facebook, etc.
Expose for easy switching between open apps
3mp camera with led light
Flash support
Replaceable battery
Wallpaper is always in background and not just black


It amazes me when people say it looks like a toy OS. People had said the same thing about macs for years. This is now the best looking mobile OS. The ball is now in apple's court. By the way every phone company sucks.

I think this may be the first time apple will ACTUALLY have to respond. 2.0 wasn't an actual response to imitators, merely apple doing what it always does:incremental upgrades.

This time, they MIGHT have to wow us.

I still see this taking sales from other phones tho, not the iphone.

Not really. There looks like a lot of OSX in there and it's no surprise considering that john rubenstein (former apple senior vice president) went over there to run palm. Examples are spotlight, expose-like feature for app switching, rounded corners with the shadowing effect, iCal lookalike, dock, etc. Vista to me looks cheap and ugly. Look at their website. This looks like they put a lot of time and thought into the design using the mac as their as their inspiration. They may not be around in a year but that is one hell of a phone UI.

Why do people get so uptight when another company comes out with a phone that may rival the iphone in some manner? This is great, it forces Apple to come out with improved features on the iphone. Basically putting a fire under Steve's butt to work to get a better iphone out so as to not lose out on their gained market share.

By the way, that cordless charger looks sweet! I wonder how well it works.

This device will be a debacle. No one will buy it. No one wants to use Sprint. It'll be slow, clunky, and a mess. It'll be a bigger blunder than the G1.

Like I said, the colors remind me of vista, the rest of UI deffinatly not.

vista is kick arse i personaly i'd stick with the iphone i like being able to practicaly customise all of the iphone sounds.
