'Pangu' Jailbreak for iOS 8.x Now Available for Mac, Compatible with Newer Apple Devices

Can anyone confirm though if iOS 8.x non-compatible apps can be purchased and installed in Cydia using Pangu's latest jailbreak?

Yeah I purchased it a jailbreak or two ago. It's unfortunate that you can't use it because Cydia won't let you buy the app since it's not updated. I will email the developer tomorrow and let him know how well it is working on my various devices. I did that last time on the first Pangu jailbreak and he changed the status to compatible shortly thereafter (but my emails may have had nothing to do with it!).

Thanks @pdaholic for confirming my suspicions. :(

I guess I won't bother jailbreaking my device for now until the developer adds support for iOS 8.x or someone else develops another BT mouse app. Appreciate you emailing the developer though, hopefully that bears fruit :apple:

I've continued testing with my other BT mice:

First-gen Apple BT mouse (the one without any scrolling / touch sensor and with one button only): OK

Apple Magic Mouse: OK, right click (as in Settings > Mouse > Seconday click under OS X) also works, but:
scrolling via touch sensor in no way works – unlike with Logitech / HP Mogo Bluetooth X54

HP Mogo Bluetooth X54 Presenter Travel Mouse: OK, scroll also works

MoGo PC Card mouse: OK

cannot purchase BTC Mouse & Trackpad - confirmed

I decided to jailbreak this morning to see if I'm able to purchase and download BTC Mouse & Trackpad on my Air 2. After a few issues and a restore then a rejailbreak (word to the wise, disable passcode lock and find my iPad BEFORE starting the jailbreak process).

To confirm, BTC Mouse & Trackpad will NOT allow you to purchase currently as the developer needs to certify the app for iOS 8.x. Getting the message, "Unable to Purchase - This product is not currently certified to be compatible with your device". Clicking, "Recheck" and trying to click to download multiple times (as some have suggested) does nothing.

I'll email the developer today as well and see if he will update the app to at least be purchasable since it apparently IS iOS 8 compatible as others have confirmed.
 
For those of us who didn't install BTC Mouse & Trackpad in an earlier jailbreak, go to http://btstack.uservoice.com/forums/158281-idea-zone/suggestions/6612195-will-it-be-work-on-ios-8-1 and read through the suggestions ;)

Be sure to install Cydia Substrate first (in the BigBoss repo) before installing btc m&t otherwise some have reported it can crash Bluetooth all-together and they then had to remove the app, run iCleaner, then reinstall. Also, please be sure to donate to the original developer as this is an incredible app adding BT mouse & keyboard input on iOS devices!

Thus far, Apple Wireless Keyboard (latest-gen with two batteries) and Apple Magic Mouse (no scroll or gestures) work great simultaneously. Microsoft's sculpt keyboard and wedge mouse also work very well together thus far and scroll works!

Bluetooth Keyboard Helper

fyi: currently Bluetooth Keyboard Helper isn't working with iOS 8 on the latest Pangu jailbreak. [Command] + [Enter] just crashes iMessage. Didn't see it in the active list.

Anyone know of a working alternative for a shortcut to "send" iMessages using a BT keyboard?

I upgraded my wife's iPad 2 with no real issues. It slowed down a bit, but not as drastically as it did my work iPhone 4S, and they both use the A5 SoC. But she doesn't play any demanding games or apps.

The 8.1.1 upgrade should help both the 4S and Ipad 2 since it seemingly is focused on these issues.

Thanks for this. I installed BTC Mouse & Trackpad last night now that I'm on IOS 8 on my iPad 4 and it's working great. This tweak was one of the reasons I was dreading updating to IOS 8.
I'm using a tablet Logitech Keyboard and Razer Orochi Mouse
