If apples "OS Updates" for Mac OSX contained anything more than slight graphical tweaks id be happy to pay more...the OS upgrades are about the ONLY thing apple price realistically for what they contain.

Apple's OS updates do contain a lot more than "slightly graphical tweaks". Parallels updates: not so much. And the price argument; it's very outdated.. the macbook airs for example have been cheapest in their range for a while. I wasn't even able to get a 27inch all in one for a while other than the iMac, and the iPhone: well.. they could make it out of plastic i guess...?

But, ok, you think €50 a year is perfectly fine, i don't. I think they're rip-offs.

Is the Newegg deal still valid? I forgot about this and I'm interested in purchasing if I can get the discounted 7, and free upgrade to 8...

Personally id blame apple, rather than the Parallels team, if apple didn't keep forcing obsolescence of features 3rd party developers use via the annual updates to the Mac OS, then the Parallels product would last longer than year without having to involve developers in re-writing a perfectly functional system to get around apples arbitrary OS changes.

At least Microsoft only screw things up once every few years with the release of a NEW OS , the Service Packs (Which is what all OS X versions so far are) rarely stopped 2/3rds of windows applications from running at all.

What your saying is the Parallel team should pay their developers with thin air to fix problems caused by apples updates, and update the product, for $10 a year or free ?

You are making assumptions, but even if it's true. It's very very expensive, isn't it?
Oh well.. you pay. i'm done.. if enough people stop using it, it'll be even more expensive for you next year.

newegg promo

where, pray tell, do I find the newegg Parallels 7/8 promo code or what is the promo code? I have looked and looked to no avail

I have PDT 6 Switching to the Mac and assume the regular version of PDT 7/8 is all that I need. That and a free immediate upgrade to PDT 8.

If you do a search, there are two threads giving promo codes. But I tried them out and they no longer work. Cost is $50 now.

I am able to play stars mmo no problem with parallels 8! Super thrilled. I even got the mouse problem fixed. I'm totally able to do flashpoints, raids, everything and I'm the healer so I cannot have anything wrong.

Super stoked!!

My specs:

10.8.1
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16gb 1333 MHz ddr3 (yes when I ordered it I wanted the best ram)
and the new Mountain Lion
I think I got the highest ram on the video card also.

I'm using Razer mouse and Keyboard,
