Not scary at all. If the last 30 min of the movie were like the rest of the movie it would be amazing.

Yes, the cashier did not do their job. At any theater I have ever been to, they ask for your ID if you don't look 18 before you buy the tickets. I would call for their manager and take your stubs in there and tell them what happened. I'm sure they can work out a comped movie or something.
Dude. I spent my entire life in Salem. I remember when this LAW passed. What the **** are you talking about? It's not policy. Your logic has the worst fallacies. No, they would not have to verify who watches the broadcasts. That's why they edit movies.
IT'S LAW
the theater near me hands out rear-end spankings as punishment for breaking the rating laws. Every year of age under 18, you get 10 spankings by the resident popcorn maker (whose hands are very buttery)
So if you are 15, you get 30 spankings.
Movie ratings, TV ratings, game ratings, parental advisory labels on music, etc, are not law. A local municipality may enact their own laws, but nationally, they're not law, which means if a movie theater sold a 10 year old a ticket to an R rated movie, they are not breaking the law, just company policy.
Porn is the only type of entertainment where there is a law restricting it to people above a certain age.
Speaking of dumb theater policy, awhile back my brother and I went to see an R rated movie. Forgot which one, but I was 18 or 19 at the time which would've made him 13 or 14. The person working in the box office refused to sell him a ticket. So we just walked over to the automated kiosk where you can purchase tickets and bought them and had no problems![]()
They did a great job capturing the film and making it seem real (original budget was only 15k iirc). It wasn't really scary per say but it was ****ed up.
Heh I'm 33 and I still get carded. It's kinda cute when someone half my age behind the counter asks to see my ID.
Back on topic - I don't get scared at movies, probably because I know it's not real, so spooky films just don't do it for me. I'll pass.
Their budget was indeed 15 grand, and it was certainly f'ed up. If you saw the alternate ending, that too was screwed up.

some people have said that the current ending leads to possible sequels (doubt it)
Same here, 34 and actually got carded for Paranormal Activity. I smiled at the girl behind the counter and could only think, "I'm old enough to be this girl's older aunt". Then I felt old all day -.-
As to the movie, like everyone has been saying, it's pretty uneventful and dull till the last half hour or so. The ending was seriously craptastic,.it's one of those scary face, "Boo" moments, like those chain emails from a couple years back
I just saw the original ending. It's much better and scarier. I bet the studio made them change it.
Paramount owns the rights to PA 2 and are considering whether they want to make it.
Spielberg suggested they change it after he saw it.
