But if I can offload my 2nd UDP before Wednesday (2 watchers on eBay and a PM on the MarketPlafe here are promising) I'll at least have gotten two subsidized iPhone 6s for my own use from the proceeds of from the sale of my six-week old full-priced T-Mo iP6, not to mention a VZW UDP (which gives me some flexibility along with my AT&T UDP).
Did you convert them to the $45/mo UDP MHS plan? doooo eeet.

----------

just stop putting our thread at risk so you can hawk a UDP
Agreed! Without this thread where would we all be? Well, like I said, I would be 11 iPhones poorer and by tomorrow 12 poorer! Come to mama iP6+ 64GB in SG!!!!!!!!

----------

That's nice
seriously don't do it. there are plenty of places to unload these lines don't do it here.

Cool story

I'm happy/sad that this is coming to an end. I have enjoyed my time here on MacRumors, made some decent money, had some fun, gotten angry, spent more time in Apple stores then I ever thought possible. All in all this was great.

The question is what am I going to do with all this time now lol. Who here plans on holding onto lines to rent? I have an entirely separate account now in my fiance's name. Do I fill it up and make MIFIs to rent? Or do I unload them, pack it up, and call it a day.

Either way it's been fun guys and gals! :D

The downside about the way VZW is ending this is that they are essentially making the UDPs worthless in transfer. Had they just closed the loophole directly, the UDPs would have gone up in value. Now with several hundred or perhaps thousand UDPs flooding the market with less than 5 days left they'll go for nothing. My new iPhone is staying in the box until I know whether I have transferred the line. Worst case I'll just return it and be out just the $35 activation fee.

Not having any issues unloading anything. Just helping out another as others besides me have done in this thread.

I will if I have to. I ran out of time this evening but may try again in the morning. Does it matter that I've been a VZW customer for all of 2 weeks?

If don't get your Nexus 6, I'm sure we could convince you to give the iPhone 6 Plus a try. Things are good here in the 64-bit world of iOS. :D

hahahahahahaha yep!

Ikr, I guess I have to go back to the slick deals thread! Oh no wait, I will spend my time on XDA hacking my Nexus 6!!!!! I'm good.

This is the same question I am pondering. I don't think I have it in me to rent them but then again, if I rented them for a fair price, say $75/mo and people want them, it's a win-win situation right?

But wouldn't Verizon notice an account with 10 $45/mo loyalty/UDP plans each using over 100GB of data per month? I think so. Guess that is my mom's problem though, lol!!!!!

Sure has been. Had some laughs, made some money, made lots of people happy. But alas, all good things must come to an end :(

Would it be wrong to start a Nexus thread here :p

I'm thinking I may fill up the spare account with UDPs and try renting them. Like you said it's a win win for everyone. And since it's an extra account I really don't care if they decide to close it down on me. It's really a no risk situation in my eyes.

I just hope this isn't all a big set up for Big Red to cancel all UDP's trying to claim abuse or some other malarkey

Either way I got me a stack of Plus 128's that look real purty

I'm gonna keep about 10 UDP lines. In a worst case I can use 5 myself and I could suspend 6 months a year and rotate the stock :)

If they do, then I'm canceling my plan without paying the ETF and VZW can just eat $700 of the $900 they just paid Apple over the last 8 days for the 2 iPhones that I purchased for my own use. I AOLed an account under VZW's own terms, went into a VZW corporate store and added my own device and got a SIM card from them, then opened up 2 new lines on Apple's website and chose from the available options. How am I supposed to know what VZW intends or doesn't intend to sell? My guess is that they will let these stick around, at least until the end of the contract.

Hopefully this doesn't happen but if they do so in the near future I wouldn't be shocked. I bet they let the new UDP lines operate as normal, but when the 2 year contract date hits they will force the lines to be changed to the More Everything ripoff.

Verizon can't close the loophole w/o Apple's help and Apple isn't going to go for it right now (obviously) or this this would have ended by now.

But Verizon can unilaterally end AOL transfers of UDP lines. So that is what they are doing.

Now with several hundred or perhaps thousand UDPs flooding the market with less than 5 days left they'll go for nothing.
Or people will realize how much more valuable these lines are and not dump them and instead rent them out.

There's no reason to believe that they would single out the new lines and not do it across the board to all UDP lines.

That's what I was thinking about doing but only with 5 lines not 10.:)

thinking about that, too. If you don't gouge people and just cover your costs + get paid for your time, I think it would be a win-win. If people were willing to pay to rent a line, it is b/c their other options are more expensive.

But what is Verizon going to think of 1 account with 10 UDP lines in it all for $45/mo so $450/mo using 1000GB of data per month in total?!?!!? I think maybe 5 lines is less likely to draw attention.

I'll spread mine between biz account, and personal with 2 sub accounts

Don't do it, please. Show some respect. This is an apple forum. If someone started an iPhone6 thread over at anroidcentral their would be a lynch mob outside the OP ip address.

Lol I would never do it, just a running joke between jules and I.

I should have said the last date of AOL UDP line was yesterday. Would be fun to see everybody in panic mode. So far, nobody can confirm it's done deal. I hope nobody kills me if the rumor is indeed false.

I've seen it backed up by several people so it looks like you're right on the money. Of course my talk with Verizon and they stated you could never do that. So who knows with these goofs.

That is easier said than done. The business must have credit in it's name as well as a physical presence, not just some guy working out of his basement.

come on now. A lot successful businesses start from basement or garage. :p

If my account wasn't flagged to hell for fraud I'd be there.

nobody calls you yet ? what kind of fraud alert ? when you try to add a line in store, what is on the screen on Apple EasyPay ?

So far, I have seen:-

Analyst Review.. Apple needs to call Verizon. Most of the time, they want to verify your information.

CORe Review.. too many open applications or lines. If you have new account, more than 5 lines will trigger it.

Fraud Review.. Verizon will ask Apple Rep to inform you to contact Verizon Fraud team.

----------

Who else besides me is going to do store pick ups this week? Who's with me?

5 (supposedly 6 if not that one stupid iPhone won't activate and waste my previous time) today. Will try get 4 or more (if I my client manage to do more AOL ) tomorrow.

Not sure if you've seen my posts but I've had a ton of fun recently at Apple and on phone with Verizon.

First I got analyst review. Verified my information, they said wait 48 hours. I of course don't wait 48 hours. I go back the next day and try it again. They say I'm good to go, try it again, doesn't work, they say come back in 24 hours. So I call CSR in the morning confirm everything is good to go, they say yes, no holds, go enjoy Apple funtime. Get there. No go. Have to call in again for analyst review. I get through the review, again, and they say refresh it. They do, it goes through, wohooo. Go to do the second, review time again. This time the rep tells me I'm flagged and only a supervisor can do anything. I ask to speak with supervisor, click she hangs up.

So today, I have the analyst review number by this point, I call in. They say I'm good to go, everything's cleared, etc etc. Get to the store. NOPE! Now I'm onto level 2, CORe review. After another 45 min on the phone finally get my line added and out the door.

I *THINK* I'm good to go now, but honestly I have no clue. I'm working overnights now, and with Apple's small window for being open tomorrow will probably sit it out. Going into a packed store and dealing with that madhouse on no sleep and getting another review could lead to me losing it. The window is closing quickly though on this UDP fun so who knows, I may risk it.
