After uninstalling iDownloader it opened directly in Safari and allowed my to add it straight to Passbook.
one that should be correct-ish (I kinda stopped making up stuff and just copied one of mine for the last 15 chars) is:
(I made the PNR record number be 'COFFIN').

Interestingly, the WWDC passkit presentation where he has some SkyPort Airways boarding pass examples with an aztec code (the big square one) actually have real information, but the PDF417 example immediately following is made-up.
I stacked a couple up I never got it like that in fact when I tried switching between passes one went behind the top pass lol

So i tried the PassSource.com on my iPhone (4s) running iOS 6 b2..
once i click the "create" button, the Passbook app does not open. Instead, i get a webpage displaying the "pass.pkpass" icon in the middle with a selection of "Open in" apps - of which, Passbook is not.
Any ideas please?

It's not working for me any longer. I still have some passes I created in there from earlier, but I can't create anymore. I currently have 5 in there, I don't know if that is the limit if there even is one.
i can't create any... the passbook app just doesn't open..
so do you get the webpage with the pass file to download/"open in" then too?
can you go into passbook and delete some and then re-generate?

still comes up with webpage wanting to "open in" some app other than passbook!
are there any other settings/options for passbook i need to enable?
This appears to be a bug in the latest beta. You can delete the apps it is trying to open or you can try emailing the passes to yourself. *Please file a bug report with Apple at http://bugreport.apple.com
Passsource kept wanting to open the pass in Logmein for me, but after I uninstalled Logmein it worked fine.
What makes you think that?
I think this app will allow the use of QR/barcodes and NFC depending on what is provided by developers. Of course, we won't see any of the NFC parts now, because we don't have that hardware yet...
Another source of sample passes
Thankyou so much for all the links to sample passes. They've been a life saver as I really wanted to get to grips with Passbook. Having played with it I love it and can't wait for it to be available to the masses and importantly for business to get on board.
I also came across another pass provider: PassKit. They have a bunch of samples and if you download the Starbucks Sample Pass you get free access to their API. You can then push updates to the iPhone lock screen. Just visit the Passbook Sample Passes section from your iOS6 device and download the Starbucks pass.
I think there's even a video on youtube showing how to push updates.
Please keep sharing your experiences, and any other sites that have sample passes or ability to push updates and change the geofencing etc...

Our Starbucks pass has push updates working as well as a service that will update the pass with your nearest Starbucks locations for geofencing.
