How can i remove coupons from passbook? My wife added a bunch of coupons and since i will never use them i want to get them off.

On the coupon, hit the little i button on the lower right corner, then hit the trash can icon in the top left

Wonderful. First Starbucks and now Harvester. Thank you Apple for bringing us the very worst of low quality, mainstream, multinational corporate owned feeding troughs.

Heaven forbid we had NFC and the ability to use it for public transport or an increasing number of independent retailers as they have their pos terminals updated.

Tell ya what why don't you [...] create a passbook app that satisfys you.

Apple doesn't write the passbook passes.

Censorship at its best.

Excellent. I just used a 50% off coupon for some Halloween supplies at Michaels without any issues. Much more convenient than having to print coupons on dead trees. :D

Few updates today:

coupons.com (goto it on your phone) now has a passbook page, some good coupons available

AMC app updated with passbook support for tickets and stubs reward card

Living Social app updated with voucher support

That coupons.com Passbook page is sweet. Works very well when adding coupons to Passbook. I've bookmarked in my Mobile Safari.

I like that Living Social has added Passbook support, but hoping Groupon will here shortly (unless they already have and I've not found the option to enable it)

Question about passsource.com for anyone who's created their own passbook; I tried creating my own Costco membership card, there's a template to work off for it, I just had to fill in the blanks and change a few things.

Problem is the bar-codes look completely different. My Costco membership card has a bar-code that looks like this:

While the bar-code on the one I created looks like this:

When looking at my Costco membership card, there are no numbers at or near the bar-code, the only numbers on the card are my membership number which is what I used for the bar-code numbers.

Does anyone know if the Costco bar-code is anything other than membership number? And if so, how can one extract the bar-code info from only the graphic?

I think you've run into one of the limitations of PassBook. There's only certain barcode styles supported on passes, so if your physical card has a different type, then a PassBook equivalent isn't going to work at the store because their scanners won't be configured for any other kind of bar code.

Yeah, you may be right. It's unfortunate as this barcode type is so common, it's on all my store cards. It's also weird that (assuming) this barcode type isn't supported and yet someone went through all the trouble to create a Costco Card template on passsource. I might just for the hell of it try scanning the passbook I created the next time I'm at Costco and just see what happens.

I actually scanned my Costco card and put it on my phone a year ago (pre-passbook) and they refused to take it claiming that only the original card was acceptable. Costco are technical Luddites.

Yeah, I was shot down yesterday for trying to use it on my phone. They said it's because it didn't have a member photo on it.

how is it that coupons from coupons.com and tickets from ticketmaster have different kinds of barcode? pass source you would think would be able to have the same barcode that is on i.e. costco's card

apple or someone needs to make an app that you can just scan the barcode that is on a card and it will automatically put it in passbook like it is.

Passbook does not support linear barcodes (such as used by Costco, or the widely used UPC barcode), because they are typically scanned using laser scanners which don't work reliably with LCD screens.

The supported barcode types are PDF417 (e.g. used by Starbucks), Aztec (e.g. used by United Airlines), and QR (have not seen one yet on a Passbook card).

AMC Movie Theaters uses QR codes. Used Passbook when I went to see Skyfall last night.

I used a movie ticket on passbook and they couldnt scan it off my screen. I had a screen protector on. Could that be an issue? My old ip4 didnt have one and were able to scan it. Plus the current screen protector has that weird rainbow effect under light in daytime. Maybe its not the best one mmm

That's probably the issue. I don't use a screen protector and mine scan just fine
