I would never buy a mac for 500 bucks haha. The price is too fishy for me. Either the guy selling is insane or the laptop has heating issues/video card issues. Goodluck though. I'm interested to see how it all pans out

Be careful, it could be stolen! Remember the last person who brag how great of a deal he get from craiglist, he was arrested next time he tries to take the laptop for service, great that the police found out that he didnt steal it.
I'm pretty sure that's illegal... do you have a link or anything?

All macs, or just Macbook Pro's? Because I got my mac from Apple for just over $500... brand new. I dunno that I wanna give away the secret though ;)

Hey fellas. I appreciate your concerns, but quite honestly, I'm almost positive this is a case of rich parents/I really don't care what I get out of this; I actually still speak with the person on numerous occasions. I've heard the crazy stories of stolen items and that totally blows my mind, but this guy was really genuine and was very upfront about why he was selling it for so low; he took into consideration that many people "over-value" their mac products when selling on CL and ends up seeing the same items be re-listed over and over again in the classifieds. I guess he wanted a quick sell but didn't realize how much he could have really gotten for it; he even mentioned how much his parents paid for it when they got it for him at the time. Go figure...

So as if the deal already wasn't sweet enough, I just went to the Apple Serial # Info literally like 2 mins ago and found out my MBP actually HAS applecare on top of it until 2012!!! :D

Hey I scored my wifes from BestBuy for 600...some dumb kid bought it and returned it , they accepted the return without the box and couldnt resell it because everything was missing including the power cord. The damn thing was never even turned on ..lol There are good deals to be had it you keep your eyes open.

Sell it on ebay and buy the updated one coming in a week.

Thats what i would do..

Damn kids and their parents.

Reminds me of my nephew. A girl in his high school got a MBP but didn't like it, so she gave it to my nephew as her parents bought her another laptop. Lucky bastard

if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. good luck with your macbook, just don't bring it in to apple store, or you'll end up losing it and the money you paid for it.

Don't mean to be a buzz kill but didn't you say the seller said there was no AppleCare? Kind of unusual that the seller didn't know if he/she had AppleCare on the computer. Anyway, enjoy!

I understand people will question the unlikelihood of someone selling an expensive laptop for way cheap, but can we finally get over the whole "this thing is 100% hot" or "stolen?"

@iLog.Genius: the seller did not acknowledge applecare nor did I ask, I just assumed it was only under the complimentary 1 year coverage and that it had expired.
