The Paypal ad is untrue in two cases:
- Person that owns the twitter handle @n lost his twitter account because of GoDaddy and Paypal ( https://medium.com/@N/how-i-lost-my-50-000-twitter-username-24eb09e026dd )
- The ad sort of implies that iCloud's security is less than stellar, leading to theft of selfies which isn't true.

Like Apple have never claimed something about a competitor that isn't true (most of the Mac vs PC ads). Not to mention their silence/arrogance when it comes to issues with their own products (Antennagate, MBP GFX burnout, retina iPad issues, etc). It's an advert. It pokes a bit of fun at Apple for their recent security slip up. Get over it.

...This holier than thou attitude that rabid Apple fans have over adverts nowadays is hypocritical and unjustified...[/img]

This 1000X, it's the new apple fans and hipsters that don't know apples ad history.

Exactly! I just tried to add money and got 2 $25 charges after they changed their website...nobody home, can't add money, can't use card, time to use a regular credit card!

I would suggest you tweeting them on twitter
https://twitter.com/AskPayPal

This the only and set way to get response if you have any issues.

They will definitely help you with that. Just include the details about your problem and they you will get response possibly within a day.

silence/arrogance has nothing to do with the ad.

And neither has a ad-hoc anecdotal experience with PayPal.
Nothing is truly safe/secure on the internet. Or on any device at that matter. The sooner people realize this, the sooner we can all quit bitching for the companies and just let them get on with it themselves.

And I'm still confused as to why you waited for this ad to be released before you cancelled your PayPal account if it supposedly that horrible and insecure (wouldn't really know myself, I've used it about 5 times, all for eBay, not a single problem). Or even why the ad convinced you to delete it.

Agree 100%. Anyone can get hacked.

Which is why it takes big brass cojones to run an ad disparaging Apple's mobile payment security when their sister corporation was seriously hacked just four months earlier (and they only came clean about it to the affected parties after they were "outed" by the security community), and their own network has been so repeatedly and regularly "socially engineered" over the years.

I have plenty of other options of paying others now. Before, Paypal used to be the only place to send and receive money.

I'm sure Paypal is running analytics. They check to see how successful ad campaigns are in acquiring users. I'm just adding a -1 to their user acquisition score since the ad campaign launched. Effective? Nope, it's not going to alarm them, but any little thing I can do to screw with their ad department is worth doing.

I'm still confused. You did nothing here to answer my questions. Overall I find how much you care about the overall fate of these companies rather alarming, but each to their own.

Really? I believe I directly answered "And I'm still confused as to why you waited for this ad to be released before you cancelled your PayPal account". If you're still confused, re-read it again.

Anyways I'm not wasting anymore time on your replies. Feel free to reply however.

Still not finding an answer, just irrational hatred for PayPal's ad department.
But, eh, whatever. You clearly have nothing real to contribute here.

As other have stated, Pay Pal sucks, one scumbag Chinese guy who phished into someones eBay account sends me fake earphones, took over three months to get money back and that with sending emails and print outs through the post, calling them and getting the real manufacture to check the item through post too.

Crap company, and definitely not that safe.

Screw Paypal.

They are a predatory payment company, if you go by the exorbitant fees they charge.

And why did this become your life's mission? Unless you work at PayPal/eBay, why would you care so much?

I don't. I don't even use PayPal much. I just don't understand his reasons. Hardly a life mission, I probably spent less than 15 minutes in total typing them posts.
Why do you care so much about my posting activities?

Paypal forgot to mention the most important part about their services:

Sigh. An insane ad for a company that runs its customers money and account info through a bunch of clearinghouses and banks that are not disclosed to its users

plus everyone hates paypal anyways

Good. PayPal is a terrible business and I hope Apple Pay puts them out of business. I give it 2 years and Apple Pay will be more prevalent due to everyone looking for something other than PayPal to use for online transactions. With apple's new privacy policies I would be more than happy to use Apple Pay for any online transaction Apple can process.
