over $5 million...

I think it will do well and it is also an answer to the people that think that other smart watches are too expensive.

I am buying one, I'm not an Apple basher - I'm just tired, tired, tired of reading posts from people who almost religiously refuse to admit there is a single shortcoming with the :apple:Watch at all and that the Pebble is total garbage thats not going to sell well. I just wanted to put my point across that the :apple:Watch is not perfect.

You get upset when people disagree with you?

I applaud those of you who must drink 5-Hour Energy by the gallon or are on crack. You clearly need a smart watch that can last an entire week.

However, I do this thing every night. It's called "sleep" and it allows my body to recharge. And just before I do this "sleep" thing, I will put my Apple Watch on its charger so it will be recharged when I wake up. This nightly ritual won't hurt the usability of my Apple Watch because I don't need to refer to it while sleeping.:p

First of all - no one NEEDS a smart watch. But how anyone can make it a criticism to another individual for liking the idea of a watch that lasts more than a day is mind-boggling.

So if Apple offered one smart watch for $200 and had a one day battery life and then one for $350 - and had a 7 day battery life. You are saying the $350 would NEVER appeal to you? Just an example.

Pebble Time - Awesome Smartwatch, No Compromises

For iOS users, voice replies are currently limited to Gmail notifications. We’re working to enable voice replies for more apps.

I think that phrase "no compromises" does not mean what they think it means.

I don't know about other apps but the fitness app "misfit" runs in the background. It constantly tracks my steps no mater what I'm doing.

That's a single app. Here's an example of my usage. I really like the information provided by the app SmartWatch+. It has to be constantly running in the background for all that info to get to the watch. My favorite running app, iSmoothRun is also installed. As soon as I open iSmoothRun and go for a run, SmartWatch+ is killed. After my run, I have to open SmartWatch+ again on my iPhone, then switch back to it on my Pebble. It's not that big of a deal, but it is a little annoying and a direct consequence of the Pebble not having deeper access to system resources (the developer for SmartWatch+ has a jailbreak app that is a little more deeply integrated), and I feel fairly certain we won't have this issue with the Apple Watch.

My problem is aren't they an established company now? Why do kick starter? I'd prefer kickstarter to be more for the little guys, and while pebble isn't big, they are definitely an established company. take some of your previous profits and put it to work.

Watch their Kickstarter video... they address that question and answer it 100%.

Possibly, but the new pebble os is reorganizing things. Have you seen the video? I don't know for sure, but it might fix those issues for you. Anyway, I'm excited. I was thinking of buying a steel, but I like this so much better.

You can't argue reason or logic with a fair amount of people on this site.

I'm curious have you ever owned a pebble watch? The pebble watch is highly underestimated. I brought a pebble watch a month back and it is highly functional for such low specs and the battery last almost a week.

Not only that a pebble cost $200 tops whereas iwatch is $400+.

Yes. I was a KS for the original black and currently wear a Steel. That will go away once the Apple once arrives

A little arrogant aren't we? Thinking you know what everyone on this planet needs and doesn't need.

Pretty disappointing that it is going from waterproof to water resistant.

The last one was not waterproof.

They have always used the term water resistant (which is what most companies do). The pebble can easily be used in the shower/pool up to a certain depth. That makes it water resistant like sickboy said, not waterproof.

It is much different than the apple watch version of water resistant. Same terminology, but way different meanings.

This looks like a good product. I'd get one but it lacks a feature that I was looking for; Heart Rate Monitor. Had they put that feature in this would have been a buy for me. I'll just stick with my Fitbit Surge for now.

I like the look and honestly as a geek watch this makes a lot more sense than the :apple: Watch. :apple: Watch is too expensive at the entry point. Were it in the $200-$250 it would make more sense. They're pricing it at the high spectrum of it's value. Too expensive and not enough features for my liking.

I think the Pebble Time will do really well! Maybe I'll get one in the future.

I watched the video. It's a different looking operating system, but the limitations of the Pebble are a consequence of how iOS works, not the Pebble itself. Pebble will never be able to reach deeper integration unless Apple allows it. Android users with their more open OS don't have these issues with their Pebbles.

I'm not trying to burst your bubble regarding the new Pebble, I just know that Apple Watch will have more developers who will be able to do more with their apps, and the end-user will have a better experience with those 3rd party apps. That said, for now my Pebble is great at sending me notifications and makes for a nice running buddy.

That's not arrogance. There's a big difference between want and need. If you don't know the difference, then that's your issue to do deal with.

No, he's correct... nobody NEEDS a smart watch. It's a luxury item. Does anyone NEED a Lamborghini? No, if they need a car they could easily just get a Toyota. Your phone does everything a smart watch does. All the smart watch does is allows you to access a few features on your phone.

I love my original pebble, but this personally adds nothing and looks worse IMO. I will buy an apple watch and keep my pebble on the sideline.

Side note: Kickstarter....really? I thought there were rules or something about being on kickstarter.

You'll buy an Apple Watch...which MIGHT BARELY last you a day. Yes the Pebble Time is not too attractive, but 7 days of battery is awesome.

They took to Kickstarter for a little extra Buzz that's all.

the amount of negative comments is crazy. What do people have against pebble exactly? Its not going to touch your all mighty apple watch don't worry....

I just got a steel today to try out. We'll see how it goes.

By that logic we would only need a cave, a club and some matches to survive and everything else is just luxury.

Not saying that anyone needs a smartwatch, but these arguments about "no-one needs this or needs that" are senseless. If anyone has the money to buy anything than they should buy it, regardless of the opinion or perceived necessity of it by others.

Like the UI changes..

Love my Pebble Steel. Was planning on holding out for the Apple Watch but realized I couldn't live with having to charge the watch more than once a week or so.

The new Pebble UI looks interesting. Hope they do well with the new product.
