How am I 'artificially' narrowing the scope of the discussion?! The subject heading is about the Pebble Time app. You're spouting gibberish.

Because you're conveniently ignoring the extreme delay of the other App because it demonstrates a pattern of behaviour on the part of Apple and weakens your already tenuous argument.

As I said, show me a screenshot of the app review process that is recent for that app, the one I saw was about 13 days or so after submission. If I see that and I see actual evidence that Pebble requested expedited review for the Pebble Time app prior to the weekend just gone, then I'll agree that something isn't right. Until then, I'm not going to slam Apple for the Pebble Time app not being approved when it still has potentially another week before falling out of scope for the standard review process. I base my opinions on facts, not unproven accusations....

Show me that proof, or are you still hypocritically giving Pebble blind support??

you're blindly supporting Pebble.

I'm not supporting Pebble, I just think its pathetic when one of the biggest, most successful companies in the history of commerce feels the need to act in this manner in response to competition from a tiny startup.

Apple has quite the history of doing this and if they keep doing it, they will get reamed in the same manner as Microsoft years ago.

You wouldn't "slam" Apple under any circumstances.

What's your opinion of why the original watch App has been waiting for approval for 43 days? i.e almost the exact timing of Apple's product release.

Yes you are. You can't supply the proof I asked for and now you're trying to divert attention from looking a hypocrite by acting pious. Transparent. you're making the wild accusation now without proof.

This is about the Pebble Time app. I never mentioned the other one. That's a different matter.

It's not, because the article mentions both and it mentions both to strongly hint at a pattern on the part of Apple and this is what i'm trying to discuss with you.

Oh... the screenshot? The one supporting the statement that they have no reason for lying about and even less reason for not actually doing? Yea, just wait a few minutes whilst I hack into Pebble's IT infrastructure and locate this screenshot you need. If I can't do that, I'll just break into their App store account and make my own.

You're telling me what I would do? You don't even know me. That's just desperate and immature. I'm adding you to my block list as you're just showing there's no logical or reasonable conversation to be had with you. There's actually many issues I have with Apple, both historically (Ping), and currently (lack of iTunes Radio in the UK, Siri being under developed and that's just for starters).

No, i'm not backing Pebble. I can be critical and suspicious of Apple without taking the opposing view and I was trying to explain to you why I feel this way, I wasn't trying to divert attention away from anything.

Did they actually try and get it expedited? The question is then when did they request the expedition. Seeing as they're using dirty tricks already, I don't trust Pebble to be honest...

They said they did and they have given me no reason not to trust them. I've heard the average time for app approval is 10 days. So we are a little past that.

I just feel like you need a little help to be more self-aware about your misdirected support of Apple. I'm trying to help you, man.

You didn't mention Maps being a total fail. What about this?

Pebble have issued screenshots, but only ones that support their complaints. They've not done any screenshots for the original app since it hit the 2 week period, if it hasn't had any progress since then, why not screenshot it now to really prove they're being screwed with? They haven't, so there could easily have been more resubmission a, delaying it. Also, if they're happy screenshotting their app reviews, they can prove the request For expediting too. The fact they have conveniently avoided either of these causes me to be suspicious of their claims. Otherwise, I'd call foul on Apple.

You need to be made aware that questioning Pebble in this matter is not the same as misdirected support of Apple.... Or maybe you are aware, and are just wanting to hate on Apple and trying to paint anyone else as a fanboy...

I did say that was for starters. It wasn't my entire list, but you conveniently misquoted me..... Again proving your immaturity. As for maps, my only issue is lack of integrated transit. Otherwise it's better than Google Maps, which still shows my area as being green fields (as it was about 15 years ago), despite being built 10 years ago, where as Apple's maps app shows it correctly.

Bye.

To be fair, I've been completely open about my strong dislike of Apple as a company. Of course, that doesn't stop me from buying their products but it does result in self-loathing. It feels kind of like that ex that you hate but can't stop sleeping with because the sex is amazing.

Their behaviour towards Apple historically and in this, means I question them. If they're so happy to share screenshots from review process, why no recent one for the other pebble app that's been 43 days? Or are they afraid that people will see that they resubmitted, rejected or had issues with it, causing it to be resubmitted again for approval? Each submission for review starts the clock again from day 1.

If they're adamant they're being screwed, prove it. Show proof that expedition was requested prior to the weekend, show a newer screenshot of the review for the other app as of now, still being stuck. Then they can really kick off, as would I.

I too would like to know what "Dirty Tricks" they are using. Please enlighten us.

Presumably he means a tiny start-up trying to publicly shame Apple out of its anti-competative behaviour at a time when it could potentially cause irreparable damage to said start-up because of the massive Apple watch release.

See, you are assuming they are saying they are being screwed. They aren't. They are informing their supporters about the situation and what they can do to help. They are stuck in the app review process. That's all. They have had better experiences in the past with the process, but recently have been bogged down. They are frustrated, but never accused apple of screwing them.

We are all obviously Apple fans to an extent, or else we wouldn't be on this website after all. But to defend Apple 100% without giving some weight to the fact that Pebble's original update has been in limbo for over 40 days is ridiculous. Even if for some reason these times are a little above average Apple should have moved to push Pebble through the process faster so this bad press doesn't come out. Pebble is in the right to make some waves to try to move things forward. Just look at the amount of press they've gotten in the past 2 days.

On the other hand though, Apple could be doing this purposely to squash a small competitor that is already in some financial trouble. While a really cruel move (and upsetting for Pebble Time owners like my self) this could continue to set and interesting precedent of Apple showing their power over the App Store and those who use it.

Either way, I hope and have a feeling the Apps will be out in a day or so and all the fuss will die down after a week. Also lets just see how iOS9 treats Pebble.

It's only 40 days because Pebble rejected their update on the 22nd of May which Apple HAD passed. That was 2 weeks ago. Pebble screwed up and are calling Apple out? Pebble don't deserve any special treatment, especially after this. Apple will pass their App within the standard review time and I hope Pebble learn their lesson.

You are confusing the update for old Pebble watch with the new Pebble time app. The old one is still in review and has been for 44 days. The new one was approved on may 18th but Pebble decided not to let it out with a newly discovered bug. They fixed the bug and resubmitted on may 22nd with a request for fast track status due to their eminent hardware release. In their previous experience, the fast-track process only lasted 24 hrs. This experience has been a bit different... Hence the call for supporters to write to apple and ask for the app to be released. Also the average review time is supposedly only 10 days. We are at day 13.

If Pebble wants control over their software, perhaps they should design and build a phone and ecosystem to connect it to. Until then, suck it up and deal with the fact you are building products that rely on a direct competitor's products.
