So it's a watch, yes. It can tell you who just texted you and what that email you just got says. Then what? That is barely more than just a watch. Is the week-long battery life really worth it just for the alerts? A regular watch will give you battery life upwards of a year.

Here are a few of the things I use my pebble for:
1. Control my lights, AC, Fan, and even a crockpot via WeMo switches.
2. Get the score of the Red Sox game (or any other MLB team) auto updated every 10 sec. with vibration when someone scores or the inning changes.
(those 2 above are set for quick access)
3. Fitness/sleep tracking via Misfit app
4. Weather info via sketchy watch face.
5. control my smart lock on my front door.
6. compass
7. TV remote for Plex and VLC.
8. Music playback remote. (no app needed, the function is built in)
9. Notifications like e-mail and texts
10. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, checking the time.

Edit: Also, I just received my Pebble Time. I hope the app gets out of limbo soon. Can't wait to try this baby out. First impression: The hardware is much nicer and lighter than I expected. A lot lighter and thinner than the original. The band is more comfortable too. I replaced my original Pebble's band with a plastic link one and thought I would need to do that again. Now I'm thinking I won't.

Sorry, this is Pebbles fault. You don't ship a watch until you have approved software ready to be downloaded.

I kinda agree. They probably should have just let the first version go live and tried to push an update. Although, I don't know how bad the bug was in there first approved version. Could have been so bad as to make the watch unusable. Who knows? Either way, they did try to get it expedited. 13 days and counting... Hope it doesn't go to 45. Come on Apple, approve it already.

It is not clear why Apple has delayed approval of the two Pebble iPhone apps

How about because Apple has just entered the Smart Watch market and they are illegally leveraging their ownership of the App Store to gain an unfair competitive advantage by delaying approval of Pebble apps?

Apart from the fact that Apple had already approved the app back on 18th May and Pebble themselves rejected it. Then submitted a new version on 22nd May, which means going to the back of the queue. Or did you miss those key facts? Apps can take up to 2-3 weeks to be reviewed and approved. Even longer when getting this close to WWDC.....

Did they actually try and get it expedited? The question is then when did they request the expedition. Seeing as they're using dirty tricks already, I don't trust Pebble to be honest...

It's inching out of that now :) I've never had Apple take this long with games and software I've either developed or published. With the Pebble being a competitor to their recent device, and with Apple removing all wearables and similar devices from their stores, it's a bit suspicious.

Normal review time can be up to 3 weeks. It's not near that yet.

What about 43 days for the original watch app?

The OP and Pebble state they did. Do you have anything to counter this other than pro-Apple innuendo and FUD?

Where's the proof that they did. That's my question. Also, you got very defensive and accusational, considering I asked a valid and legitimate question....

For all we know, the only asked yesterday. It's funny that they don't provide proof of that.....

Otherwise, the app is still within the standard review timeframe and it's a non issue....

This is about the Pebble Time app. I never mentioned the other one. That's a different matter. For all we know, Pebble rejected that app approval like this one. I've not seen a screenshot from the review process for that app in ages, unless you have a link?

Where's the proof that they did. That's my question.

Given that you're the one making wild accusations and it makes no sense for them not to have done this, I think this is your responsibility.

Why do you feel the need to blindly support a mega-corporation? Does it somehow reaffirm things about yourself to hitch yourself to them? I've never understood this aspect of people.

Right, so lets artificially narrow the scope of the discussion to exclude this important information so that we don't accidentally demonstrate a pattern in Apple's behaviour?

They're the ones making wild accusations. I'm calling them on it. I've not said Apple are right. I've only stated facts...

Also, you're the one making wild accusations. I'm not blindly supporting them, if anything, you're blindly supporting Pebble. You are aware you're being hypocritical right?

How am I 'artificially' narrowing the scope of the discussion?! The subject heading is about the Pebble Time app. You're spouting gibberish.

So instead of answering my legitimate question you deflect by repeating my own statements but in an out of context way which makes little sense in an effort to prove some sort of point?

I answered you. You're obviously not happy being challenged as I had a valid point and called you out on it, to which you started getting childish
