Or could it be that these new iPhones are truly incredible and that is driving more people to get in line early to make sure they are on board on launch day?
The line started at one of the NYC stores a week before the announcement. The #2 guy in line was #1 but he sold his spot for $2500. You'd think they were only making 5 phones!
Let them wait, if they did pre order, we still be waitng for the apple site to come up, remember what happen this morning? Besides that's our entertainment while we wait for our orders to be delivered.
I did the overnight thing when the iPhone 5 was released. The store is in my local mall (Providence). I was #3. I have to say, it was actually a really good/fun experience. Everyone was nice and friendly. You could get up and walk around without worrying about someone stealing your spot. Nothing like going to a Black Friday sale. Then walking out of the store, thrusting my phone box into the air and hearing everyone cheer, it was great! I wouldn't mind doing that again. I wouldn't sit there for days or longer though. You only get to be first in line once for an iPhone launch.
