My local mall where the :apple: store is won't let you start lining up until midnight Thursday. Wah wah.

People will probably start lining up outside the mall then move to the inside later. A line to get in line.

Remember, America is the only country in the world in which it encourages unemployment in its society.

How early on Thursday?

If i decide to wait in line i was planning to visit the apple store Thursday morning just to see if anyone is in line yet. But I plan on calling to see if I can find out how many 6+ they are going to have for people in line. But if there is a lot of people already then screw it i'll wait for Oct 1-6 and call it a day lol

I thought it was a little crazy to wake up in the middle of the night to order a phone (but I did it anyway). That's on another level. Why not jus preorder?

Amazing that people value this more than their lives. They'd be better off paying premium for a device day one if they can't wait. Better spend a thousand bucks than waste an entire week of your life doing nothing productive.

Or just, you know, make the pre-order online. Models and versions were available for hours (the Plus model not withstanding).

If by some chance these people are being paid big bucks by people to do this (thousands of dollars), then maybe it might be worth it — but even then, it seems like a huge waste of time and of their lives.

Gotta wonder how many are in their cars just scoping the place out when it gets close to midnight lol

My mall was the same way with the 5S. I showed up at 11 assuming they would actually enforce this and the line was around the corners (probably 150+ people).

I don;t understand the point of telling people they can't d something and then allowing it to happen.

Will be lining up Thursday midnight outside a local AT&T store. I thought people already lining up outside of apple were out of their mind, but after reading a post here saying someone was paid 2500 dollars for their place...and considering I don't start my new job til next week...sounds like easy money >_>

Damn, I think it's going to be a long shot for Thursday morning. If only the apple store will give me an accurate stock count to see how bad it is for the 6+.

If someone offered me that kind of cash for my place i'd take it and run. Phone can wait lol.

I actually pre-ordered a phone this morning from Apple for Friday delivery. I ordered one yesterday for my son as well. I mean really I'm 3 days after you could preorder. Normally I go about 3 in the morning on launch day to a AT&T store just because its fun but to camp out forget it. Nuts

Or could it be that these new iPhones are truly incredible and that is driving more people to get in line early to make sure they are on board on launch day?

I'd consider doing this myself if I hadn't already pre-ordered my devices for delivery. There is no shame in it. This is far more important than just a phone.

What? Yes these are amazing devices and something we use all day every day but waiting in line for a week? For a what is essentially a computer? I mean 24 hours is one thing, but 72+ hours?

You drive your car everyday and all things considered, a car can be classified as something "truly incredible," and something far more important than "just a car" since your life revolves around it working. No one is camping out at the dealership for a week to pick up their Acura.

Guaranteed it wasn't a plus lol. That's the coveted (and lower stock, it seems) model.

Would be fun if you stocked up on beers and had a few mates with you. Got to try it some time just for the experience.

This- it's not just about the phone, it's just generally fun.

Grab a flask, load up the divx on your laptop, pack some snacks and go make some interesting friends in line.

There's life outside the mancave/basement/couch.

ITA. I had a blast one year. Met really nice people, and Chick-Fil-A brought us all free breakfast sandwiches and coffee. It was a cool time. :)

It all depends on where you live . I have never pre ordered a iphone and have had every one since the 1st iphone... I have never showed up before 1am Friday morning and got my phone with no problems...people camping for days are doing nothing but building hype ! Last year I went to my apple store here in md at 2am and was number 10 in line .

Oh brother. Unemployment rate in the US is 6.1%. The UK is 6.4%. Ireland and France are at 10%. Italy is 13%. Greece is at 27%!

Maybe get some facts before spouting off an asinine opinion.
Of course UK is higher, we got all these immigrants running around taking advantage of our benefits & free health care.
