Apple Land
I would also prefer to have a redesigned iphone instead of have the same look again for the 3th year in a row.

However, we should not forget that Apple is a company with a lot of resources, engineers and creative ideas.
They have the task to convince us buying the iphone 7. I'm looking forward to see how they are going to pull this one off. It's not like they will have a 5 min keynote without any compelling arguments for us to buy this phone.

They already have 2 things agains them (same design + negative perception about the removal of the audio jack), so they must surprise with new compelling reasons for us to buy this - expensive - phone. They know we vote with our cash, so they are forced to do their best ...

We know what it looks like, but not what it will do.

The september keynote will be an interesting evening and, for now, i'm giving them the benefit of the doubt :)

Apple has an incredible promotional media machine that national news sources carry their promotions as news items in their story lines. Apple will get sales by introducing one or two new colors for the iPhone 7 as well as maybe faster A10 and certainly a better camera.

That all is need for Phill to hype the iPhone 7 as the best iPhone ever!

Why do we want a redesigned phone?

Beef the processing power, use better quality materials for the screen and home button, improve the camera, put more features in the OS. This is what matters. Who cares if the phone looks he same for 5 years?

What do we know about the iPhone 7?

It will be the best iPhone Apple have ever made

Apple will be excited to announce it

It will feature a ground breaking design built from the ground up

It will feature a revolutionary "all-new" camera system with improved optics for amazing SLR quality photos (shows examples)

Desktop class CPU and GPU performance

Comes preinstalled with iOS 10 and pricing will start at the same as the iPhone 6S today

And that is iPhone 7 *audience claps*

Well it matters

Certainly when it's a beast to hold certainly for the plus models. So much wasted screen and it's tough to hold where the latest 5,7 note the bezel difference is huge.

As for holding the phone, you're right. I've never needed a case before, but my 6S does need a case. But I fear the quest for thinness means were unlikely the have a phone that can go naked again.

Apple also only make their latest phones available to those who will give them a positive review. If they are given a negative review, they blacklist the individual or company responsible, and then deliberately delay sending them any future product. This form of media manipulation is part of the reason that you only see positive reviews of Apple products, until well after the release date.

Many of us would welcome a redesign, simply because iPhones have become some of the ugliest looking "premium" phones around. They look more like a child's toy than a high end smartphone. Given what Apple charges for the iPhone, they could at least make it LOOK nice.

I think they look nice enough.. But it's a dated design, especially compared to the new samsung notes (never thought I would say this)..

And the human mind is built in a way, that new looks means better/improved device.

Don't want to mention new Samsung galaxy note 7 has HEADPHONE JACK PLUS WATERPROOF. And oh, USB-C port.

iPhone 7 will surely be another lacklustre device we have. I am not among any of those guys responsible for reviewing products so I don't care giving negative reviews to the product I hate.

I don't get how. Look at the Note 7. Same as the S7 Edge but with a pen...

If no headphone jack means better battery life? I think people will get over the headphone jack to be honest.

IF a space black model comes, it has wateproof device and a camera even Better than the s7 edge? I would be pretty sold on that.

It is the best iPhone ever no doubt. I am very interested about a month to go. The leaks will become a river.

Because the design is lazy work, and doesn't look good IMHO.
When you consider the resources available to Apple, the amount of laziness is truly appauling and a poor reflection of the company's values at this point in time.
[doublepost=1470226883][/doublepost]This is gross. And if it is a reality this year, I'll truly be disappointed.

I agree, those are 2 ugly phones. Especially for 2016.

I can't believe that Samsung wants me to get all new accessories and chargers just because they want to switch to USB-C. What's wrong with micro-USB. Now I got to carry around my own charging cables, or God forbid, micro-to-C adapters. The Horrors!

Why couldn't Samsung leave micro-USB alone. What if I need a charge when I'm at a bar and the bartender only has micro-USB chargers? What then?

Holy Hell. Samsung is so stupid.

/sarcasm

Funny how I don't hear as much griping when Samsung drops a standard port in favor of a better port. Apple still gets grief for dropping the 30-pin
