We know what it looks like, but not what it will do.
I care less about what it will DO then I care about what it LOOKS like.

As long as it will do: Email, Web browsing, Phone calls, social apps, iMessage and SMS/MMS I don't really care about the rest. That's ALL I need my phone for. I don't play games, I don't really watch videos on my phone (I prefer to watch these things on much larger screens) and anything above casual usage I turn right to a computer for.

I also keep my phones for 2.5 to 3.5 years. So I want to LIKE what it LOOKS like for that entire time.

And that new camera bulge is twice the size of the old and makes the phone twice as fugly as my 6s+ already is.

Go ahead and let Apple convince you if you wish - I won't be buying.

Apple backed themselves into a corner with the yearly refreshes. Some technology just takes longer to develop and perfect, but fans and shareholders would go ballistic if they didn’t stick to this refresh cycle and at least release something. On some level we are to blame with this expectation and managing our Apple product funds. I’m sure people who buy things strictly based on their need at that time have a higher level of peace.

iPhones get upgraded every single year. Apple fans are just too shallow to realize that. Like a new design is going to change your habits on how you use an iPhone from the older design.

Each new iphone has aways been significantly better than its predecessor. There's no reason to expect that the 7 will break that trend. None at all. Rumors are rumors. Most of which are probably promulgated by Apple's competitors.

I just can't wait to see the audience reaction in the keynote when Apple unveils the iPhone 7 and explains the reasoning behind the design. That reaction will be second only to the iPhone 4s keynote where people realized that in fact every other iPhone would be an "S" variant.

And that ended up working out just fine (if not better than that) for Apple so far.

Every year, Apple internally "upgrades" an iPhone. You really think Apple goes backwards? All brands technically upgrades their flagships. A new design isn't going to radically change how you use your phone. A new design will only make you go buy another case for it and hide that new design you have been yearning for. Apple removes the 3.5mm headphone while haters won't even bat an eye that Apple is finally getting rid of the archaic physical home button and 16gb base model and adding water-resistance and wireless charging? Are some of you that dense?

Every year, people complain about the new iPhone. Removable of a 3.5mm headphone jack is their latest headache issue just like people whined about the camera hump on the 6 or headphone jack is on the bottom for the 5. Justify whatever iPhone they currently own to not buy the new one. Apple fans are a fickle and insecure bunch. They need reassurance threads. Maybe this year we will have a call-gate ;) from all their s*** talking.

And every year, Apple still sells like 50M iPhones no matter how much people bad mouth the new one. The iPhone 6se is going to sell alot. Under 20M will be considered a flop. It will sell 40M bare minimum.

If no headphone jack means better battery life? I think people will get over the headphone jack to be honest.

IF a space black model comes, it has wateproof device and a camera even Better than the s7 edge? I would be pretty sold on that.

I anticipate that wireless means poorer battery life than using the 3.5.

Not as negative as when the iPhone 6S first came out as I can recall

Really? I don't recall people being particularly negative about the 6s. It offered significant internal improvements, including a much asked for increase in RAM and better camera, and no one expected a new design because it's an s model.

I think the design of the iPhone looks better then most android phones and I actually like the design of the potential newer model.

Sorry but the galaxy devices are ugly and USB type c is good but not something the masses care about. Waterproof is good but then again most people already buy cases that can do that.

Cmon the new Samsung phones are easily one of the most beautiful devices on the market. Not sure how you can say they are ugly

I think Tim Cook has been too busy building a new headquarters and involving himself in political and social issues. The Iphone is stale. Look around at the Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 plus others. There is a world of improvements that are needed in the Iphone; screen resolution, water and dust resistance, wireless charging, headphone audio with separate DAC's. I enjoyed my Iphone 5, 5S and 6S plus, but when the Galaxy S7Edge and the HTC 10 arrived, I moved on. It's a shame that true Iphone fans will have to wait until September 2017 to get a phone that will be markedly superior to the phone that will be released this September.

The consumers aren't that negative it seems. I'm looking forward to a new "gadget", I'm sure there will be surprises.

Many industries have yearly updates and consumers expect that. Consumers want new, fresh and ways that alter their habits. Apple Pay, lane departure technologies etc are ways in which innovation alters habits.

I will save my money this year and will wait for the 2017 anniversary iPhone:D.i have a iPhone 6s plus and i don't think this will disappiont me for another one year :)

Because I have an opinion and in my opinion they are ugly.

The new HTC and Sony phones and even Motorolaook far better. I'd definitely would hut them if they ran windows (I never will buy an android phone ever again if I can help it).

THe new Alcatel idol pro 4 looks great. The honor 5x and the one plus devices. Samsung look like crap to me especially the edge models and I am sad to know eventually Apple and my preferred windows oems will likely be following suit. My only bright side is usually when apple copies they do make it better so I may wind up liking edge devices.

I just don't see a reason to buy a new iPhone every year anymore like I did up until the iPhone 5. With the iPhone 5, i skipped it and skipped the 6 as well. I will skip the 7 and see what happens with the S.

I also do the same with Android. I bought the Note 4, Note Edge and the Note 5. I see no reason to buy the Note 7 this year partly because I bought the Note 5 in December and I only recently started actually using it more than any of the 5 phones I bought since December.

I like the rounded edges of the 6/6S, but prefer the detailing and size of my iPhone 5. Note I said 5, not 5S. Space Black works so much better.

I am looking for a new design in the hope they significantly reduce the bezels. I want a bigger screen, but don't want a bigger device.
