I'll at least try, no harm in that. If it doesn't work then I'll try later that day and then late at night.

If it takes a day to activate I won't really mind, I still have my 3GS and a backup phone.

i activated my 3gs in the amount of time it took to plug it in and pop up on itunes, 20 seconds? but i had a new line, the other person on my plan had a line he was upgrading and his took a few hours to activate.

Well, I'm going to have to wait until July 14th. I still can't get Apple to take my iPhone 4 pre-order. It won't even ship until after July 14th! :(

I have to wait until December when my contract runs out because apparently the 6 months upgrade thing doesn't count for me . I think it's because I don't have an iPhone right now. In a way I'm pissed but in a way I'm not because it is a 2 year contract and that's when it ends. Plus I get to skip all of this chaos.

Not a chance, I'll wait late night to do so. Which in actuality means aroud 10-11 PM

You people must have never actiavted an iPhone  Sure it's quick-ish, but it takes longer than just two seconds. At the end, you have to wait for a text to be sent to your new phone, thus completing the activation. For the 3G launch, this took days for people. 600,000 pre-orders so far, and more to come. It's going to be a cluster****.

Luckily I'm on the east coast, so I'll try asap.

I guess its because I've been using my SIM since 2005 in each phone as I go.

If its actually a SIM activation deal then I'll cut my SIM down and "activate" the new one later .............. some day :D

Glad I'm on the east coast and Fedex always deliver before 10 to my neighborhood, if all goes well my iPhone4 will be up and running by 10:30m on the 24th:D
