It's not about who's a baby in your opinion or about the 10 days, it's the point that I could have just bought it on Aug 28 and that I don't feel there was any benefit to pre order it. Furthermore, when a delivery doesn't arrive as scheduled I'd expect to have the sender look into the matter as opposed to saying ah, just call us in 10 days if it doesn't arrive. To each their own, I was just sharing my opinion and I think as a professional they should have handled things differently.

Okay I see what you mean but still. If everyone can clearly read, It's a SEPTEMBER ship date so if it ships any time in september then apple kept their promise. Also, If you haven't noticed, the UTD package is DIFFERENT because it goes directly with your model computer. If you all can't wait then go waste your $20 more on the Full SL at the apple store. Every UTD buyer complains that they payed the extra 2k+ on their new systems but who else played 2k+? EVERYONE ELSE. PLUS the $30 for SL. Just because you bought your system last month doesn't make you special. If you all hate apples support then go off and get windows 7! We apple to deathers don't need your negativity.

I'll just reiterate the point of my post, I thought the pre order was pointless. I understand Apple clearly stated a September ship date, however, later I was notified by Apple that shipment was shipped Aug 27 with delivery BY SEPTEMBER 1st. With that said today is September 2nd and the mail has been delivered and SL has still not arrived, but again the real problem in my opinion is when Apple told me to just wait 10 more days after I called to notify them that there was an obvious problem with the shipment. Also I want to add that I love my apple products, and the negativity shown in these posts are direct reflections of how I feel I've been treated by customer support when calling about my missing package. I don't feel any more obligated to receive my software than the next person and hope everyone receives a copy of SL at some point. Finally, I just want to say that I understand having SL yesterday or 5 years from now really isn't a big deal at all and if that were someone's only problem they'd be in darn good shape, so I'm just venting.
You my friend are a good point arguer. It turns out that SL came in the mail for me TODAY so yo should probably get it tomorrow or something. If apple were to ship say, an iPod maybe a day or two late you wouldn't mind much would you? See what I'm saying? People are sooo hyped up about SL that EVERYONE wants a copy at the same exact second it pops onto shelves. It just doesn't work like that. Apple can only copy so many at a time! Say, 5mil on the release date. 5mil copies aren't enough for EVERY mac user on the planet so you just have to be patient.
Ok, i just want to make sure but UTD copys don't have anything to do with the serial you ordered for correct? It was just used to make sure your legit to get a copy? Since its the same as the retail i'd imagine as such even though the part numbers are different for UTD and retail. Thanks.

I was told repeatedly I would get a full copy of 10.6 on the release date, I was told both in the store, on the phone, and on the chat.
It was postponed to September 1st. They said on the phone UTD people weren't pre-orders. I said that's unfair.
And then I didn't get on the 1st.
I got September 3rd.
And it's just an upgrade disc, not a full sealed box!
I would have gladly paid $25-$30 for a full box.
This is ridiculous.

I miss spoke. The UTD package and the retail package are different in terms of the disc and packaging itself UTD has no box what so ever. Retail does. UTD also is the "hardware bundle" software which means that it would be the one that would ship with your new MacBook Pro or something. UTD is an UPGRADE. SO IS THE $29 VERSION. The $160 some version is the full. YOU GUYS ARE RIDICULOUS. STOP COMPLAINING AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. (Like go to windows if you hate apple so much)
While I have already bought another copy of SL on Monday through Best Buy I thought I'd update the status on my SL I originally purchased from Apple, Apple emailed me with a deliver by date of September 1st and today is the 4th still with no sign of SL.
I pre ordered my copy of SL online 24th Aug after email notification from Apple. I paid the £25 which was taken from my account the next day. The shipping date quoted was 28th Aug. As of today 4th Sept the item is 'Not Yet Shipped' I enquired to Apple by email on 2nd Sept when the delivery was anticipated and am still waiting for a reply.
I wouldn't have minded waiting for SL if they had given an honest shipping date, but I don't like feeling that we are being taken for granted. After all it's not bad business to take £25 off every customer and not supply any goods for 11 days (and still counting) A global apology on our online shipping details wouldn't have hurt but to keep you guessing as to your delivery date is really taking the mickey out of their customers.

The saga continues, still no answer from Apple to my emails both to Europe and UK. Finally rang Apple for progress. I was informed that there could be a payment problem with HSBC, but they would send me a copy of SL today which was strange as I'm sure Apple would not send me anything without getting the money first. Checked with my bank and they assured me that Apple had withdrawn the funds on 26th August. So who's kidding who? Do any other contributors feel like they're being taken for a mug?
