Not currently an iPhone owner (I hope my opinion still matters...).

Once it's announced I'll make the call to get the 5.

I was just thinking that the 4s is definitely going to fall to $0 w/activation, and ALL the accessories for the 4s will go clearance shortly as well, so unless the 5 BLOWS ME AWAY, it'll probably be a safer bet to go 4s.

wide screen porn ofc! lmao

but no your right, there will only be a few minor benefits but i think that the phone in whole will be of a significant change to the 4/4s. ive really fallen for it now, wasnt sure on the two tone back and taller size but i think its exactly what the phone needs so im itching to upgrade from my 4 :)

my 4 has a few blemishs on the stainless bezel but apart from that its pristine... so im hoping to sell that and upgrade to the 5 (will sell after release)

My 4's home button works only half the time, only one charing lead works with it and the battery doesn't last too long anymore :( Sept 21st can't come soon enough!

I've been without a contract for over a year and I'm ready for something new. I bought my 4s second hand since I didn't want to get locked in for 2 years. I was on a 3g to 4 cycle so it's about time. Plus I may go with Verizon since AT&T lte is spotty where I'm at

Does it make sense to buy a at&t locked iPhone 4S from ebay etc and get it unlocked via those ebay listing (under 20$) rather than picking a factory unlocked one ?
I am planning to get iPhone 4S after the next iPhone is launched.

you answered your own question :)....

Yes, it will save you some money and be the exact same. Use an ebay listing sold by "theunlockedclub" They are 100% legit.

Yes I will and then give my 4S to one of my children since I just got it back in April. I will upgrade my other 2 children and my wife phones as well. Hopefully the 4S will drop down to $100.

Yes i read about theunlockedclub from other threads on MC too so i too would go for something that people here have tried and tested. Thanks for that.

If the only difference is a 4.3" screen in the same aspect ratio then yes definitely however unlikely.

If its just taller the text will be the same size just more view. I'm on my iPhone constantly and get severe eye strain from reading the tiny text.

I got my 4S unlocked used when it came out. My provider will never subsidize a new phone for me so I would have to pay full price. I think I'm going to be with my 4s for a while. If I find a great deal on an iPhone 5 I will make the switch. My iPhone 4 was with Rogers and I had get rid of it to change providers. Had I had an unlocked iphone 4 I would have never gotten the 4s.

I'm not too crazy about the look, and that I won't be getting the new contract pricing this year...but if it's LTE I am definitely getting it. I tried LTE for the first time a few days ago on a Galaxy S3 and was blown away by the speeds.

Yep. I got an upgrade around the rumored release date and I want LTE. I'm in.

I sold my 4S in August to buy it, but if the rumours are true and the only major selling point is LTE (something us British can't have for a while (not properly anyway)) then I might go with Google's next offering. The Google Nexus S SuperAMOLED 8.75", 32:18, Android 8.7 Krispy Kreme, Scart, HDMIOut+In, project butteroncrumpets 4.0 etc. etc.

Of course the bigger screen on an iPhone is something to lament losing but I have an iPad to stick to the 'ecosystem' and if some of these iOS6 UI changes are as annoying as they look then I'll give -cough- Android -cough- a go.

I'm currently using a HTC Wildfire and it's bloody awful.

If I had a job (am a student - student loan does not count!) then I would certainly have gotten this one.

I think I'll wait until the 2013 model :).

The last phone that I ever stood in line for was the iPhone 4. In that line, I saw dozens of people who were still using the original iPhone. I wonder how many people are still using that original iPhone and have never upgraded.

Yup, need LTE!!! :D

Thanks Matto, good to know you used that particular seller and worked out good.

How much more do you think unlocking adds to the value of a used 4S? Thinking it's not enough to warrant paying these guys. What do you think?

Bought the iPhone 4, told my self i wouldn't get the 4S... Bought the 4S... Now telling my self to hold off until the iphone "5" presentation... Sure I'll buy it...

Without a doubt. I'll be paying full price instead of paying the early upgrade fee so that I have my eligibility next year.

I just really want the bigger screen becuase I Play a lot of games, and LTE. I honestly don't even care that much about any other features. My 4S processor and RAM is plenty fast.

$490 seems pretty high. The average seems to be around $425 on eBay. Care to highlight what was offered in your sale? Did you ship internationally?

I include all original accessories and free shipping when selling iOS gear on eBay.
