Got my 4s in December and had to switch it out when I had an accident with it in July. While I'm sure it will be a great upgrade I don't see how it would be financially feasible for me.

I buy when they have the unlocked for sale. Haven't been in a contract since the 2G.

I may, it depends on what features will be on the iPhone 5.

Just a bigger screen will not do it, as I don't believe that the screens that I've seen in the rumor photos is that much larger. And the larger screen is about all anyone is talking about. The NFC thing is not enough to sway me either.

All the big talk other than the screen size concerns IOS6 and everything they mention there will work just fine on my 4s.

So at this point I'll have to say no.

Guys, you know what? LTE is so cool. It is super fast. In fact, it sucks your juice within hours. It is so cool technology that is not really ready yet. Your calls are still rely on GSM though.

My iPad's battery life is fine. Some companies may not give a rats ass about their users experience, as long as they can throw the marketing buzzwords around, like LTE. Apple does. They aren't going to implement it unless they are ready.

I was thinking about it, but the form factor and dock connector are big downsides, and the only upside is LTE. Considering the area that I'm in has HSPA+ that's fine, I'll just stick with the 4S.

Maybe, Maybe not.

I have a 4S that is really fulfilling all my phone needs at this time. But who knows what Apple has in store. Steve Jobs said, "its not the consumers responsibility to know what they need" of course I am paraphrasing. So I may not know what else I need my phone to do until Apple shows me. Lol.

I'm 99% sure that I won't be. I'm part of the "S" cycle anyway....went from original iPhone, to 3GS on launch day in 2009, to a 4S on launch day last year.

I was well aware that by upgrading to the 4S last year that I would be locking myself in until late 2013 and I'm fine with that. My 4S works great, and does everything I need it to do, plus some.

I can say that the 4" lengthwise screen itself isn't enough of a draw for me to spend an extra $250 to upgrade early. Also, given that AT&T doesn't yet have LTE coverage in my area, I would still only be able to get the same "4G" speeds that my 4S currently offers. And I have zero interest in switching carriers, as I have a plan that fits me well.

Only way I'd consider taking the plunge would be if Apple comes out and hits us with something COMPLETELY unexpected. It would honestly have to be a game changing feature that nobody even saw coming - something on the same pedestal as the retina display - for me to consider forking over an extra $250 to AT&T to upgrade early.

On that note, I'll look forward to the 5S next year when it is announced.

:apple: I've had 4 and 4S (both preordered opening night) and I'm shooting for a straight sequence with the iPhone 5.

iPhones have... like... ALWAYS been $250 for the smallest one. They won't change that.

It's actually only $199 in the US and the way the poster phrased his statement made it sound like the "iPhone 5" would be pricier than the 4s was.

In California (with tax on the full $650 retail price) it ends up being $250 total when you buy a $199 iPhone with a two year contract.

Is that what you mean?
