No problem! I sincerely hope it fixes the problem! If you can try and post pictures of the insides of your mac and hopefully we can build a small collection of success stories

So how would one go about cleaning the dust out of their MacBook without damaging anything?
I opened up my 2 1/2 year old MacBook Pro for the first time a couple weeks ago, and it was NO where near as dusty as that image!
Hi all! I've been following this thread for the past half year and I would like to suggest a possible solution for some of you hopefully! (since I've not seen similar advice in this thread)
...long text...
That might be the solution for some, however, for me, it's pretty much as clean as when i bought it.
Need to take it in to genius bar some sunny day to fix it + the creaking.
Yeah I just posted in hopes that someone might be able to solve their problem in the same way.
If you're still encountering the overheating problem it looks like the genius bar/using your warranty is the only option![]()
maybe i can wait till the new MBPr comes out and get mine swapped
thanks for your input!
some things that are obvious to some people might never have been heard of for others
I'm not too sure myself how my macbook got so dusty inside! I followed this guide at ifixit in order to open it up...
http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Reapplying+Thermal+Paste+to+the+CPU+and+GPU/9587/1
Once it was opened up you can use compressed air to clean it. I however didn't have a can at hand so I simply used a vacuum cleaner at a low power setting.
ok guys good news
I was tired of this throttling thing while playing metro last light so i decided to try something
i have reapplied the rmbp thermal paste (the factory paste was crappy and very poorly applied.it was uneven with gaps and to much of it as usual)
I bought a Shin-Etsu Microsi as have read its really really good
the important part is not to put to much of it and spread it in a thin and even layer( i used credit card )
and guess what its really hot outside this days and a have about 75c degree on both cpu and gpu in bootcamp while playing heavy games!! i played Metro for 3 hours and i had no throttling issue at all
problem solved![]()
first of all, take a deep breath.. You surely need it.
Second, the only problem you have, apparently, is lag.
Fans are not stuck at 2000rpm. The fans are always running at 2000rpm unless more power is needed to cool the rmbp. It's normal behaviour. Have you tried using ultrafan (per example) and setting a lower target temperature in order to check if the fans are responding? Which apps are you using to measure temps, both under windows and os x?
Secondly, 86ºc is not as high as you think. These cpus are designed to stand temperatures as high as 105ºc. If the temps go over that, the cpu throttles in order to cool down. I play fifa 13 often under windows and the cpu goes as high as 90ºc and the gpu as high as 80ºc. The game does not lag, i obviously feel the heat if i touch the laptop but it's designed to stand that kind of temperatures. I may get that kind of temperatures by just watching a 1080p video in youtube (not anymore since i swapped the thermal compound but the temps still go near that).
Lastly.. It is impossible for a user to restore a previous efi version.
sorry my friend but im a little angry so... please excuse meWhen you stop writing in caps and being rude, maybe, I'll reply.
My rmbp fans are stuck at 2000rpm they work properly and respond but when gpu is 70 they dont blow up can any body help?
Resset and ressset the ****in smc hundreds of times
sorry my addiction to typing in caps looks really serious!
Lol
