Is it "ups innovations mail"? Bc that always seems to take forever. You get a tracking number that doesn't even register in the system for days to a week.

It is, yeah. The only thing they're innovating is the art of annoying customers, because taking that long to get from Arizona to California is absurd.

Is this the best matte skin out there? I'm very impressed with how this has turned out but I'd like to compare with others before dropping the dough.

I think FedEx has an option like this too. The carrier dumps a large amount of shipments off to a local USPS and they handle the actual delivery. From past experience it seems as though the longest step is once it gets to the post office. It seems to sit there for a while before going out. Low priority perhaps. Tracking with the original carrier often stops there also. I don't really blame phantomskinz for it. Seems like a lot of companies offering free shipping options are using this method. Probably very cost effective.

I have to say, their shipping sucks. If you want it in any reasonable time frame, don't use the free shipping. I ordered mine on September 28th, and it still hasn't arrived. I emailed customer service on Monday, and they told me it would arrive on the 9th. It didn't, still hasn't, and their response was:

"Typically the Free shipping takes 2-4 weeks to reach its destination since
it is a 2nd class mail. I always recommend to customers to upgrade to the
USPS Priority to ensure a speedy delivery. This method arrives within 3-4
days."

This is from Arizona to Los Angeles, mind you, so it's not exactly traveling across the world. Based on my current experience, I wouldn't order from them again without a coupon.

On which day did you get the shipping confirmation email?

What are the differences between the Regular one and the Matte one? Which one will stop fingerprints and which will make it look like there's nothing on the phone?

I got a delivery notification but no sign of a tracking number. The email instructs me to use the tracking number on the USPS website, but there's no tracking number in the message! How did you find your tracking number?

Here it is. This is the matte finish purchased from PhantomSkinz. The sides are also covered in the matte finish. The screen is protected by SGP Crystal Clear screen protector. The install was pretty easy since I'm used to wet installs. I did like the side protectors as it covers the whole side of the phone in a single piece. Now I don't have to worry about scratches on a naked iPhone. :)

How long did it take you to get the skins?

When I got my shipped email, near the bottom was "The package's delivery confirmation ID is XXXXXXX" - double check yours. If not, email customer support and they can get you the info.

I finally received mine today. Just installed it and it looks good. The matte back looks a lot better than the cheapie Zagg-like skin set I ordered a couple of weeks ago (it was somewhere on this forum, 2 sets for $3, so I'm not complaining). The side cutouts fit well and weren't a nightmare to line up. It's drying now, we'll see how it looks tomorrow.

removed the phantomskinz front screen matte shield because the anti-glare frost is too much for me.

what i use now:
phantomskinz matte back and sides wet install.
bodyguardz matte screen protector.

perfect combo for me!

Congratz on getting your PhantomSkinz! How does it look now that it's all dried up? Judging by the pics I've seen from other users, the back skin looks amazing and I'm still undecided on the sides.

I've checked the email message from phantomskinz on 3 different computers and the delivery confirmation ID isn't there. However the email came with an attached file "winmail.dat". Unfortunately when I open this file it's just a bunch of code with some numbers and I'm wondering if the tracking number is somewhere hidden there. Would you mind letting me know how many digits your confirmation ID was? Did it consist of both letters and numbers?

I need to contact UPS as soon as possible and the tracking number is required in order for them to assist me, so this isn't a case of an impatient customer obessively tracking the shipment of his package. I sent an email to PhantomSkinz yesterday but I haven't received a reply.

I love the matte back and sides. No worries about scratching and fingerprints.

About 12 days to go from Arizona to California.

It looks great. I'm glad I went with the matte; it keeps the original look of the phone better than the shiny Zagg-like skins. The side pieces were excellently cut, and went on easily. They look great too. Overall I'm pleased with how it turned out, and since I ordered during a special sale, I got two sets.

Ordered the matte now also,
Could you or anyone take please nice pictures of the side pieces on the phone? (Especially around the volume buttons and bottum :p ) Thanks!

I don't know why people are saying it took so long to get. It shipped out on Tuesday and I got it on Sat morning. I did the free shipping method as well and I live in New York. The tracking number doesn't even work so I would just wait for it to get to your door. Was surprised to see it Sat morning. :D

I asked this earlier in the thread to no response, but can anyone tell me how it feels? I'm guessing it doesn't feel like a naked phone but can someone describe it? Thanks!

Just installed the matte version...going to see how it turns out over night.

As far as installation goes, it wasn't too difficult but there were times I got a bit of crap under it. My advice is to go slow on the sides and concentrate on getting it down without trapping anything more than having it perfectly aligned. Being a wet install, it's fairly easy to come back and shift it about a bit if the alignment is off but since the side is (mostly) one piece, if anything is under it depending where you are getting the stuff out may be difficult without starting over or stretching the skin.

I'm not really sure how to describe the touch. I guess rather smooth and 'non-grippy' would describe it. It isn't low friction or anything, but it doesn't seem to have that overly rubbery feel either that you may associate with some protectors. I'll see if it feels any different in the morning. Can't currently compare it to the raw aluminium back, I had a case on it for the past week so I'll need to go to an Apple store and hold a naked phone to compare it properly.

My biggest complaint is that it is one piece from the mute switch to the bottom volume button, with a small bit then for in between the volume keys. I'd have preferred it if the seam had been on either side of the headphone jack, somewhere a bit out of the way like that. The skin has clearance to get past the jack, so I'm sure they could have made cutouts for the volume buttons and left that side looking a bit nicer. Isn't bad, but the seam, probably could have been under the phone which would have also removed the need for that <1cm bit thats in between the volume buttons.

But yeah, may or may not get around to posting images. It's a white iPhone with an SGP on the front. Depending on how I like the back long term, I'm half considering going the SGP 3 piece back but I'll see how I find this for a week or so. Ordered this before the 3 piece SGP hit the market. My gut is that one will feel nicer, but at the expense of a less attractive camera cutout.

I got a tracking number and for 5 days its been saying the same thing "electronic shipping info received" did you tracking number update? Or do you get it without any updates?
