Ok trucker guys,
You all like the movie version

Or the original better

Yea I’m 63 and my dad had a full custom van with CB radio in the mid 1970’s when the craze was real.
We pulled a 26 foot trailer with it, and really used the CB radio

So in keeping with this theme:
Scanned photo I took from our family 5 week out west vacation.
That’s our custom van and trailer, I was all of 16 then.

The rest of the family big vacation story:
We are on our way home, driving on highway stretch. My dad was tired, I had driven the van trailer combination locally in Michigan in simple roads before for short distance.
So, I took over for my dad out in the middle of the west going towards St. Louis, next thing I knew it we were in a construction zone. I’m behind the wheel and it’s getting skinny, that’s when I learned don’t look left or right at anything look in the middle of the road.

I met my first husband (who was a truck driver) on the CB radio in the late 70s. It was a short-lived marriage. AND, I still have that CW McCall "Convoy" tune on my Apple Music collection...

Back to the photos.....
