Doubt it's real - but even if it is, it looks smaller so could be a lower-end cheaper model (there were some rumours about the line being split into 2 or 3 separate products like with iPods)...

So this could be the 'teenager' model, and the pro/business/high-end model could have all that shiny-aluminum-stylish goodness the rest of us want ;)

I don't think it looks apple, but I do like it. If real I would be happy to buy it because it would still have the the goodies that make an iPhone an iPhone. Touch screen, interface, etc.

I think it looks very good, pulled out my iPhone to compare and it does seem like a progression in the positive direction. Will be pleased if the new iPhone looks like that (not that I will be getting one)

There's some noticable pixalation/darkening around the logo as well as the front button etc...

Definately photoshopped.

i dunno man..... that back is pretty scuffed up looking already..... plus the screen looks bigger..... I don't think i buy this rumor!

why must these people put out these fake pictures? Why are you messing with us?

All we want is a sneak peak.... not a fake! Damn you!

It's a fake !!!

First, the home button on the front doesn't have the right angle.
Second, the iPhone typo on the back is too pixelize
Three, the scratches on the back and also a step at the bottom of the phone, probably when they superimpose the back of the real one on top of this picture.

I knew I saw that before, it's the back modified of an LG Chocolate, exactly the same curve

Now I like that. It's a lot more phone-like than the current iPhone.

Will buy. Hopefully with a 2nd camera in the front for video calls.

A Mockup

I think it's a mockup of the phone, not made of the real materials, but merely accurate in size, shape, and positioning of elements, to help get the feel of it and design cases, etc. I can see Apple giving a few of those out to trusted (oops!) manufacturers.

So strictly looking at the shape of it, that looks nice. A little narrower, a little shorter, nice.

If its real Jonny Ive has lost his touch. It looks totally hideous.

If it does really look like this, forget it I won't buy one. call me superficial but the touch screen can't make up for this.

Please no. It looks like any other phone out there only a lot worse.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

LG Chocolate KG800

Sorry Guys.
This is a photoshopped LG Chocolate KG800.

The shape, curves, the approx size, the back, the look of the plastic including its reflections - even including how scratches look on a worn phone match the LG Chocolate for 100%. You can even see the small silver border in one shot when you look closely.

Do a google image search for "LG Chocolate hand".

Or better search on eBay, where people show their own non-glossy/non-presskit photos.

Even with mediocre photoshop skills one would be able to achieve this in just about 1-3 hours.

I agree, there is something about the current iPhone that makes it stand out, this just looks like any other phone to me.

Exactly! I'm calling BS on this. It looks cheap and nasty and un-Apple like. It doesn't look anything like the design that Apple has been going towards (which the iPhone kicked off) and I would be embarrassed if I was Jonathon Ive and I'd have designed that.

It looks hideous. If it looks like that, I'm going to cry for not picking up one of the 8GB current models with the £100 off promotion!!!! :(

But the shape looks nasty as well. The MacBook Air may be tapered, but this thing looks so un-Apple like. All of Apple's products have striaght lines and round corners. This doesn't fit at all with that.

I hope your'e right. Somebody had a HTC touch at my work and I could get one now but I just couldn't live with its industrial design.

Not many companies REALLY understand industrial design and thank god apple does. LG, Samsung certainly don't (they put curves on the side and think that's it). Nokia and Motorolla aren't bad but apple is the absolute pinnicle. Take it from me, ID departments the world over have apple products all over there studio walls and wish they worked for apple.

The current iphone is perfection and anything less than this won't do now, for me anyway.

Plus the line about half way down the side in both pictures.

doesn't all Apple items have engraved serial numbers and trademarks and stuff on the back?

the photo seems to be missing this...

IF it is real we will know in a few days (if not sooner) when apple demand that the photos are taken down.

I don't think the apple legal guys will have their weekend ruined for this somehow.. We will wait and see.

I think the worst part of the image is the Apple logo itself. First of all as mentioned earlier it is more pixelated than the rest of the photo. Second of all it seems to be level while the phone is being held at an angle. To see what I mean, check this out. I grabbed an image of the back of the iphone and inverted the colors, then laid it on top of this image.

The more I look at it, the more I think it's just some other crappy phone with the iPhone buttons and logos Photoshopped onto it. I'm certainly praying that that is the case! Plus the screen looks matte, not glossy and the plastic looks like nasty bakerlite or something! Prizes for the first person to find out what phone that is...
