it would be nice

If this computer becomes a reality, and is able to duel boot, I would get one. I am IT and I am currently looking for a small laptop or Netbook so I can carry it around while I do Network related diagnostics. The small size would be rather important to me since I would most likely be carrying this thing around most of the day. The current MacBook Air is a tempting idea but the screen since also makes it a little cumbersome to carry around. A MacBook Air that has a 9.5-inch screen and will allow me to duel boot, would be the jewel I am waiting for.

Another issue I have with the Air is the lack of a RJ-45 port. I would love to see something like this thing with one. I have been holding off getting a PC Netbook since I would prefer one of Apple's quality, that I can boot into Mac OS with, with out using a hacked version like some of my fellow IT friends have done.

If you're gonna do a mock up, at least mac it the aluminum color. White is too over-rated now. I like the new silver and black look.

Although an aluminum Macbook Air 9.5" would be nice. A plastic one would mean having a RJ-45 and a lower price. RIght now I can get a NetBook for under $400. Ill pay $700 for a Apple one. So in a strange way I would prefer the plastic one.

One thing you all over look is that Apple might be the source of the Fake. To see how people respond to it before they go threw the trouble (and Expense) of making one.

Apple might be the source except as the updated MacRumors article and many people in this thread have pointed out, it was a student project. So, no, they might not be the source.

update: I see you quoted the post about it being a student project so you probably already knew that, but ... well that makes this line of speculation even more difficult to follow.

Oh here we go with all this "proof this is a fake" bollocks.
Remember The Mac Mini Where CSI Guy Actually Drew Lines Stating That The USB ports were not possible and were at false angles?
A few weeks later when it came out he had complete egg on his face.

Did anyone think that the logo may look off because this may be a prototype model, and remember the logo was off in the prototype unibody macbook.

I say, sit back and hold your comments till it actually surfaces. Fair enough - speculate - its part of the fun, but please leave your "hardcore evidence" and "absolute proofs" at home

Stop speculating. It's a student's project making a model out of wood and drawing all of the details in with pencil.

Maybe a picture will get their attention. :/

The "Apple Netbook" is a pencil-drawn, wooden model made by a student.

I've solved it all after reading alot on here...

ITS GONNA BE...

A

atom based
cheaper
carbon fiber and wood
9.5 inch
inetphone
that takes better pictures
and video sharing...

maybe not.. but the internet makes me believe things. :D

A Chinese knockoff?

Apple always said that they would never make a netbook but they didn't say they wouldn't get the Chinese to make one for them did they?

I want one and I want it now where can I place an advance order?:)

Look at the size of the ports, it's Photoshop of a shrinked iBook.

Actually it is a 13" MacBook with a ruler photoshopped in. You can see the reflection off the edge of the ruler in the hole area, but there is no corresponding reflection on the left edge of ruler. Also, see the shadow within the hole ... dark and to the right. Compare to shadow on left edge of ruler ... light and to the left. Reflection off ruler is stretched and there is no reflection for some of the areas. See areas marked in pink. Finally, the ruler edge next to the book is sitting below the base of the computer, but the side away from the notebooks is casting a very large shadow as if lifted off the ground, not to mention that the ruler shadow on bottom moves the opposite direction of the shadow on the computer.

Nice attempt ... no matter how lame.

I really hope you're being sarcastic.

Nice attempt ... no matter how lame.
Nope. you were being completely serious.

/facepalm

Fake

I'm glad to read all the posts here stating that this is a fake. Afterall, I learned from all the "Image experts" here at Mac Rumors that the images of the Mac Mini with 5 USB ports was fake. It might have fooled some people, but experts here proved that it was photo shopped... No way Apple would ever make a product like that!!! You guys even "proved" that the image of the Mac Mini box was fake and photo shopped as well.

If that's not proof enough, the experts here knew for a fact that the images of the new Macbook case was fake as well!!!

When I want the truth, I come here!!

Thanks for the info guys!!!!!!!
