My very first thought when I saw this was "It's Mario Batali" and then my second thought was "thats a cool photo". :D It looks like you thought it was him too based on the caption on Flickr. And if he really was wearing orange crocks, it had to be him. :p But anyway, I really do like the shot. The bus on one side and the car on the other frames it well and pulls you into it.

OK, I have no idea why it isn't showing the quoted image, but it is the one right above me.

Ha thanks. It was Mario Batali indeed. I see him EVERYWHERE, this has gotta been the fifth or sixth times I've ran into him.

My neighbor's flowers are in different stages of blooming. I took a picture of 5 different stages of blooming all from the same plant in the same frame.

Let me introduce you to my new series, I'm having a blast make them and reliving some memories as I go. It's a collaborative series with my girlfriend, she provided the fonts and a couple images and I did the rest. Hope you like it!

Next time I go down there I will have to bring a wider lens, set up differently and take some better shots. It was just sooo cold that I set up, took a couple snaps and left almost immediately.

This is my first POTD.
Shot this through my window/screen to a bush outside. It was raining and the bush was leaning over. Just liked how it turned out.

The Angel Oak

I took this on Wednesday. It is an HDR of the Angel Oak, a 1500+ year old Oak tree on Johns Island, SC, thought to be one of the oldest living trees in the USA.

^^Love the red shoes.

From Good Friday service at church this evening.

^^ Red shoes jumped out to me, too.
The commercial, "Where did you get those shoes?" came to mind before I saw Keleko's comment!

Keleko: Very moving, but without your comment , I would not have recognized it for what it is. Perhaps a different angle -- with the long end of the cross on the lower edge would have made it more recognizable? Or zoomed out a little bit to show the end of the beams? Just a thought ...

The cross is very large. It is probably 10' tall. The rose would be lost if I had more cross in the frame I have a further back shot with some more roses on it, but it just didn't invoke the same feeling for me. The long end of the cross in the shot I posted is the bottom right pole.

Here's the other angle I took. This one was taken right at the end of the service while there were still roses on the cross. People were coming up to take one home, so I had very little time to set up and get this between people coming up. My pastor kinda shooed me away because he wanted people to have space, too, so I only got two shots with multiple roses still on the cross. The first one I posted I did later after everyone had left. My daughter placed the one rose.

As you can see, I still didn't get the entire cross because of its size. The shadow is from the cross hanging from the ceiling above. Personally, the single rose invokes more of a feeling for me than the many roses. I wish I could have gotten a picture when all the roses were still there, but that wasn't possible at all because that only happened during the service.
