Panama

Does this picture depict the combination of old and new, restored and ruins or is it just a touristy picture with too much in it? You be my judges.

View from Casco Viejo to the skyscrapers in Panama City.

I've been tracking this fantastic forum for months, and I've been trying to learn from you all. I'm pretty new to DSLRs, after using P&S's for many years.

So here's my first submission...

Feeling a bit unmotivated today for a picture. I went for the quick and easy macro.

Mayan Monument

^^ That image is amazing. Simply perfect!

Wow!!! I agree with Hisdem!

Welcome! And that is another fantastic shot!

After these two, I'm almost embarrassed to share it, but here's my photo for today ...

This monument in San Miguel, Cozumel, Mexico marks the location where the first Christian Mass was celebrated in Cozumel. Left is the priest, right is the Mayan shaman. Below is a Mayan woman and her child.

This photo made me thirsty for some Sprite. That is a cool tree right there. Liking the colors on it alot. Could care less about the fountain. : )

The fountain made you think of clear water. Clear water + lime = Sprite.

Interesting choice of focal point and depth of field. It makes me wonder what what it might look like with everything in focus.

I took half a dozen pics of the same scene, it never occurred to me to actually take one with a smaller aperture.:D

And speaking of badly focused shots. This one I thought I took f/8, but EXIF says f/7.1 making the foreground daisies OOF. Still kept it because I'm a secret admirer of bright super-contrasty sharp everything colorful landscape pics.

Camera Canon EOS REBEL T2i
Exposure 0.003 sec (1/400)
Aperture f/7.1
Focal Length 35 mm
ISO Speed 100

Was able to get outside for a bit just before dinner... missed the rainbow, but thought the clouds were worth crossing the street for.

Hi all, second post in the photog section, so excited to finally start getting into photography, I've wanted a DSLR for ages.

All C&C is so greatly appreciated.

No post edit, I'm waiting for adobe to release the raw updates, which hopefully are coming soon.

This was taken in natural light on a Canon 7D with a 70-200 f4 L lens and a macro closeup adapter.

This is my first post to this forum. I'm looking forward to many more.
C&C welcome. Thanks.

I'm glad to see all the new contributors. Don't worry if you don't think they're good enough. I haven't seen anyone's pictures that don't belong here. If there is criticism it is meant to be helpful and not insulting.

And, here's my simple shot for today.
