Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house; Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there...

Walking back to my car after doing some shopping. Partially overcast day (the clouds were moving in-and-out all morning; 15 min later it was completely overcast with flurries). The sun just happened to peek through and shine on the capitol building as I was walking past. Happened to have a camera with me (yay for small, portable cameras!)

On a monopod @ last nights church service, 50mm prime @ f1.4, ISO200, 1/25 sec
Used Aperture 3 for PP, still this Canon f1.4 prime is just not as sharp as I'd hope, its fast for those low light shots, but always kinda soft

This is my first contribution....new to photography and new to dslr. Not as good as the other pictures posted but this is my first attempt...hope you like:
Welcome, This is an interesting image, The Eastern Star engine has interesting textural detail. Was this a flash shot in an otherwise dark location. There seems to be a great deal of light from directly over the tracks.
Very nicely captured, interesting contrast between the sunny side of the street and the bike stand. I keep coming back to this image.
That's one photo that I took last night trying out the "P" mode on the Nikon D3S. Works quite well. 1/50sec, F/4.0, ISO900, 250mm.
Wow, nice steady hands. The jet is so sharp. ISO 900, and I see no noise, nice body.

Off for a short hike with my family, Hope to get a good shot or two on the way up the mountain between the raindrops.
All the other birds were extemely cautious around me, but this little guy dropped by to greet me with a courteous bow.
Not visible here.
I can see it, it takes forever to load when I click the link though, try resizing it to something close to 1024x768 before uploading.
