Sunday afternoon ride on my bike - took my camera with me.

C&C Welcome.

Hmm, now that you say that, I like the lights more too. :p

Oops, I didn't catch the f/2.8 in the Exif. That's quite a lens you've got there!

Yep it is; it's my new favorite lens. I've only had it for a couple of weeks. The thing is like a boat anchor compared to the kit lens, but I really don't mind. :)

Thanks. It's not my usual subject matter, but maybe it's not all that different from the "ruins" I usually shoot.

I really don't think he was going anywhere. :(

After a couple of really cold weeks (40's and 50's)
we are finally getting back to typical Florida weather again.:D

Nice action capture... great action!! But... man, those waves sure seem small. Wetsuit required here in Lincoln City, OR, but you guys need to come to the west coast and hit some of our 30-40 footers...;) These would be fun to photograph, and I bet you'd get some great images...

Thanks for the links! Yup, know all about the Oregon coast... fullsuit, booties, and hood required. And then you have to be placed at the mercy of two million forceful tons of ice cold water and whatever it deems appropriate for your fate!

We get big gnarly warm waves in hurricane season, but nothing close to pacific like swell.

I would do it in a second... but my favorite pics are taken from waist deep water in baggies with a splash proof E-3 lol!;)

A buddy of mine in Santa Barbara runs a surfing forum you might enjoy. He shoots a Canon 1DMkIII with a 300 f2.8 on a Wimberly head from shore, and a 20D in a waterproof housing (edit: from SPL) from the water (and a wet suit, of course). He's got a local surf blog going at www.rinconsurfblog.com too.

Oh wow, this is one of my favorites from you. Great capture, and I like the colors and composition as well. It looks like fun to shoot surfing. :)

Those last two shots are some of your best! Great movement and colour!

Do you use any sort of splash proof plastic bags?
My K10D is also sealed, but am still worried about the odd occasion where this happens :p

When your on rock, you can run, when your in the water it's not so easy :)

Completely raw. No post processing, no sharpening or anything. Just a bit of a crop.
