I like this photo. Hard to capture quality snow shots like this. The black and white tells the story even better.
love the look of the ice shack in the foreground looking all tiny compared to the rest.
i went outside yesterday and claimed, "This is an ice fishing day!"
Beautifully diffused golden light! It really makes the colors pop. I also really like how the blue on the closest boat echoes the hues of the clouds in the lower part of the background.

That light is amazing, and the contrasted stacking of the boats in terms of size, shape and colour is perfect. Love it!

The guys with the big hair are Japanese Gigolos (日本ジゴロ). You will see them a lot in Japan. They will try and get girls to go and drink at the club/bar they work at. The catch? The female has to pay for what she drinks and also what the gigolo drinks. The more he can drink, the more money the club/bar makes meaning more commission for himself. If you are ranked #1 in the club/bar then you can easily earn $50,000 a month! Sounds good eh? However the lifestyle isn't that great at all! There are several documentaries on Japanese Gigolos on YouTube.

The boats all tied together as to protect themselves against a storm gives sort a intimate brothers and sisters protecting one another feel to the picture. And the colors...

Wonderful! This reminds me of Jökulsárlón beach, a place I'm dying to photograph. I presume this was shot in Canada. If so, it's nice to know one doesn't have to go to Iceland to find a beach with ice boulders!

VH-OJT, QF6021, off to Guangzhou for fresh paint
This is QF6021 flown by Boeing 747-438 "VH-OJT", off to Guangzhou to get the current Qantas colour scheme. If you notice, it still has the ancient "The Spirit of Australia" titles which are 2 generations old.

1/15sec, 550mm, F/6.7, ISO10,000. I'm quite pleased with that photo - it worked out well. Nice light, good blurring of the background lights.
