Have you considered trying out some legacy glass with an adapter? Manual focus only but you can pick up some quality old lenses off of eBay or from local camera shops for next to nothing. I'm going down that route myself. Today I bought a used Fujifilm XE1 body off of eBay and a couple of old primes with adapters. Can't wait to get my hands on them.

I'm sure you'll enjoy the X-E1. I got the same two cameras but the other way round, X-E1 first, and I'm not interested in upgrading either for the foreseeable future.

Thanks Ish, I'm really looking forward to the XE1. I don't think I'll ever get rid of the X100, it's a cracking camera.

Here's a sunset to remind us that it hasn't always been raining and windy here in the UK.

That being said - if I could afford to I would, of course, buy those Fuji lenses ;)

Hey MacRy, it sounds to me that you might like a good business venture opportunity...say something like this:

Self portrait with the latest Mrs MacRy creation. I'm available for children's parties ;)

I'd buy one...it's very cool! Of course Mrs MacRy may disagree with you about how you spend the profits. :(

Great picture - he really looks to be giving you an evil glare.

Thanks Parkin Pig...much appreciated. Here is another shot of the lost soul...

Lol. She may have to find a more photogenic model though as although her creations may well be sellable I think I could be harmful to drumming up business.

I like this one! But, when you're sporting this look, I have trouble associating your self-portraits with Guy Ritchie films. :(

Some downtown graffiti

Just got my RX100ii last night. First shots happened today while on a walk to the bank.

I went out last night with plans of capturing the Vancouver skyline at sunset from the North Shore... and this gazebo was begging to be included in the picture. I'm interested in your thoughts on the composition... good, bad, or ugly?

I really like it. I like the juxtaposition of the old and new/simple and sophisticated buildings.

One of my first good shots from my camera, it's a Canon EOS Rebel XS with the 18-55mm lens that came with it. Can't believe I got the thing for $100...

The colours are stunning in this photo and the exposure is spot on to my mind. I love the juxtaposition between old and new. Since you've asked specifically about the composition, do you think the colour reflection in the water is enough to balance the weight and detail in the top half? I don't know, I wrote that having seen the big picture but when I look at the thumbnail it looks more balanced. It's an interesting reflection though and I can see why you included it. I'd have been very pleased with myself if I'd taken it! :)

So I've been on an unintentional break from both my photography and the MacRumors forums. I decided that today would be a good day to end my dry spell in both and get back to it. We've had a good foot or so of snow in the past couple of days and I made my way out to the zoo where my wife works to get some pics of our snow leopards in a more "natural" climate. I hate that the fence was in this shot, but I like it otherwise.

In the Adelaide Botanic Gardens, South Australia, is this path that curves through huge bamboos, beside a creek. On the side that looks onto the creek, lovers etch their initials into the stems. True love or bamboozled?

This was trying out NIK Analog Efex for the first time and a quick side visit to Silver Efex to finish it off.

Photo of the day: February 2014

Just in case you haven't seen enough of my ugly mug here's a slightly more normal selfie. Last one for a while I promise. I was just rather pleased with how it came out.
