These old blocks spell my name, and were originally from my grandfather's printing shop. There's a little history in that shot.![]()
When was this photo taken- in the middle of the night?? I've never been to Pike Place without it being wall to wall people and venders. Nice perspective and coloring.
I'm very grateful for my family saving items like that. I am beginning to fully appreciate my family's history at this point, and simple things like those blocks remind me of good moments with grandparents. My grandfather did a lot of woodwork carving at dollhouse scale after he retired as a carpenter. I wish I had paid more attention when he was alive. There was a lot of cool stuff we could have talked about. But, I was young and a teenager and didn't understand at the time. It wasn't that we didn't get along, but it was just I didn't appreciate what he did enough at the time. I do have several pieces he's made on display in my home now, and I will always treasure them.
Very interesting textures and hues. Well seen!
Thanks for all the compliments! I had a good time at that hotel photo meet up.

My sister in law lives in Seattle. I went there last year and visited Pike Place. Wow, a huge difference without wall to wall vendors. I didn't even notice the green columns.
