Thanks for all the compliments! I had a good time at that hotel photo meet up.

From the printing shop by DigitAl3x, on Flickr

These old blocks spell my name, and were originally from my grandfather's printing shop. There's a little history in that shot.

My grandfather did a lot of woodwork carving at dollhouse scale after he retired as a carpenter. I wish I had paid more attention when he was alive. There was a lot of cool stuff we could have talked about. But, I was young and a teenager and didn't understand at the time. It wasn't that we didn't get along, but it was just I didn't appreciate what he did enough at the time. I do have several pieces he's made on display in my home now, and I will always treasure them.

I'm very grateful for my family saving items like that. I am beginning to fully appreciate my family's history at this point, and simple things like those blocks remind me of good moments with grandparents.

Check out this portrait taken on the Fujifilm X100! I added some noise digitally for a more vintage feel! I love this little beast of a camera! This camera continues to impress. Gorgeous BOKEH too!

I got it to replace my D700 for everyday usage. My D700 is now the workhorse camera only.

It's like I just put the baseball through the window all over again.

It feel like I have a '55 Ford pickup parked outside and a sandwich on the way, nicely done.

I just really like this one, I'm drawn to the tower every time.

When was this photo taken- in the middle of the night?? I've never been to Pike Place without it being wall to wall people and venders. Nice perspective and coloring.

It was at 4:20am Friday morning. I'm naturally a night person and I don't like crowds, but I do like night photography, so this suits me perfectly :D

My sister in law lives in Seattle. I went there last year and visited Pike Place. Wow, a huge difference without wall to wall vendors. I didn't even notice the green columns.

Honestly, I didn't notice the green either. I saw a vendor entrance that didn't have a cable with a "Closed" sign on it so I slipped in quickly, got the shot, then slipped back out before anyone could notice. I was paying more attention to the framing than anything else.

An early start in the freezing (-20C) cold.. i am looking to buy an ND grad (LEE or HITECH) because that image came out way too bleached and i tried getting the colors up but to no avail.
