Had our power knocked out for a few days, but I want to catch up on some of the great photos here.

More trolling through my archives...

Great framing and use of light. I love the separation that the house and field have from the rest of the frame.

I found this tiny ‘house’ in the woods. And it really is tiny (just big enough to store a pair of walking boots, or a man’s head  ... or maybe the crock of gold that you find at the end of the rainbow). And there’s a lock on the door. I’m intrigued. :)

I would love to have a print of this, as it's one of my favorite photos from your lovely Lakes District. I refuse to believe this is some sort of utility box. That's entirely too mundane for the subject. Hobbit house for sure.

Wonderful use of layering. Nice and soothing photo.

Beautiful. Enough said.

First decent snowfall (icefall) in Washington DC.

Very unique combination of tones and forms. I like the way the leaf stands out from the frozen background.

Wonderful mass of lines and shapes. Very well visualized.

Nice photos from everyone!

PM me with your email, Dale, and I'll be happy to send you a full-res version (I don't think it's going to be appearing in a tourist brochure any time soon)...

Wow! That lined up well. How long was the exposure and did you use a ND filter?

Thanks it was a 3 shot HDR, I think the longest exposure was 20/30 seconds, I didnt use a ND filter.

The wind was very very strong which made the clouds streak like that.

Wonderful photo Phrasikleia.
Can I ask a few technique about the pic if you don't mind. EXIF says 127 Sec F 11. Did you use Bulb mode to come up with such a long shutter speed?
How come it did not overexpose the picture? And when you set your shutter speed to such a long exposure, what were you trying to achive? ( I know the photo speak for itself, I just want to know your insight prior to pressing the shutter.)

Thanks and keep on posting wonderful pictures. Truely enjoyable to see.

Grey and rainy weather made me look into last years images. This one from Turkey I overlooked, now edited with SEP 2.0.

Nice one Appie. Don't know how it looked originally, but I like it this way.
(Composition as well)

seattle: Great image!

Great shot! nice colours and balance of light, I like how you included the light trail of the traffic through the gap in the trees.

Well, I just clicked the buttons to multi-quote a whole bunch of posts in this thread, typed my replies, and clicked preview...DIDN'T WORK...got links instead of TIMG'ed images. Grrrrr. So now I'm going to go sulk in a corner and be miffed for while. When I summon the will, I'll attempt to get it working again in Chrome or else will resort to a different browser. This intermittent buggy behavior is really annoying.

:( If you still have your text saved, you can copy your post into a reply field in Firefox and it will TIMG.

This is another one from the Georgian Terrace Hotel meetup. It's quite different from what I've done before, too. I'd really like to hear some comments/critiques about it because it is outside my usual photographic comfort zone (though I had no problem asking this lady to pose for me).

I like the lighting and composition of the picture-it has a spiritual quality to it. The black and golden colors also work very well together.
