It was raining so I was shooting at the grocery store today.

Another beauty, Phrasikleia!

Hi all.

This Black-capped Chickadee was photographed at the Old Quarry trail in Kanata (Ottawa) It was very tame and came back on this perch often, allowing me to position myself close and with a good background.

1/640sec, f/4, ISO400, 173mm

Great shot! Let's turn this into a chickadee thread.

Love it! They are sweet birds and talking about tame. I've had them feed out of my hand;)

Welcome back from "over there." Another beauty, love the serenity of this photo.

Thanks, fcortese. :) I wish I could say that it's good to be back, but now I'm in a situation where photographic opportunities will be few and far between. :( Summer can't get here soon enough!

The view of the Guinness Brewery and downtown Dublin from the Gravity Bar at their facility...

Very nice balance of light here. Great view from the bar.

Great color and exposure effects. What was the filter set-up for that shot?

Dale

Thanks, Dale. I used a 10-stop ND and a 3-stop GND on that one, hence the 102-second exposure.

Phrasikleia and Doylem, I just wanted to say thanks again, yesterday I only had a minute to post while a mechanic was working under my truck on the side of the road. But I'm home now with a nice cool drink so all is good. ;)

I was really surprised at the response I got from this photo. I post the same photo's daily in a few different places(none of the others are photo related) and it got responses from people who never comment. I decided to get a few photo's printed at my local shop every week this year and this will be in the first batch tomorrow morning.

I was on the way to a park(where I took today's photo from) when I saw the boat and stopped to shoot it. I was trying to keep the shutter speed fairly short as the boat was moving a bit, luckily 4 seconds wasn't too much. I was right at the edge of the stable ground with camera up as high as I could get it to get over the blackberry bushes, being dark I wasn't much into the idea rooting through the bushes.

I'm curious, are there any filters that reduced tungsten light? Whenever I'm doing this night stuff in the city it is very easy for the tungsten light to over power everything.

I have a few of these in the small wooded patch behind my house. It is too dark under the trees to get any decent handheld shots of them with my current lens and it takes standing still for a LONG time before they get close enough too. I'm considering setting up a small feed/bath spot in my back yard that will get sunlight in the morning and have a blackberry bush(already there) as a background.

First time posting a photo to this forum. This was taken with a 2004 Nikon Point and Shoot. I can't even remember the model number. I downloaded LR3 and am trying to learn it before I buy it...

Lightroom 4 beta is available for download trial right now. I'd wait until LR 4 is out to buy.
