It was a Snow Day so I thought I'd snap a quick picture of my neighbors in the snow. This is my favorite!

Thanks!

Phrasikleia and Doylem, I just wanted to say thanks again, yesterday I only had a minute to post while a mechanic was working under my truck on the side of the road. But I'm home now with a nice cool drink so all is good. ;)

Another beautiful evening photo from you. I really like the lavender hues in it.

I'd love to see one of those someday! Are we looking at two koalas here (one behind the other)?

Another superb bird photo, Rowbear. You make it look easy (which of course it is not)!

Whistler BC

I really like the minimalism and textures of this one.

Ugh...I have no idea why the Chrome TIMG extension has stopped working. Is anyone else having problems with it?

Thank you, it is actually morning in the shot. I don't venture into the city after 5pm as I'd much rather have a drink in my hand and get up early the next day. ;)

This one was taken bear the boat, I just liked the color, texture and light.

Works for me. It asked for an update from 12.0.742.122 to 16.0.912.75, so I tested a quote both before and after I ran it. I'm on Snow Leopard. Are you using your new Mini with Lion?

I'll drink to that! ;) :D

Yup, new Mini is running Lion (and like a champ, I might add :) ).

[Edit: just relaunched Chrome, and now the TIMG extension is functional again. Strange.]

There is this newly renovated farm near my house that will be used as a museum. They used old wood picked from another old farm, and it has so much photographic potential with old windows, doors, fixtures, etc. I'm going to spend a lot more time there.

My very last shot of 2011, taken on New Year's Eve...

Beautiful! Love the long exposure and light.

Nice image. I am liking all your plane shots.

Thanks! Here is another one - the plane I wanted to photograph didn't seem like it was going anywhere, so I packed up. Right after I left, the Maskargo A330-200F did leave (much to my disgust). They changed the runways around however, so it would have been near impossible to get a clear shot of it (moving too quickly).

I did snap this however, A340-300 CS-TQM:

Manual exposure, 1/3sec, ISO6400, F/4.0, 200mm.

This plane is from a company called HiFly, which has leased it to another one called Adagold Aviation, which in term operates charter operations for the Royal Australian Air Force with this A340-300 sister ships CS-TQM, CS-TQL and the not recently seen OY-KBM. They can taxi out in darkness, but they won't hide from a Nikon D3S with a fast super-telephoto lens attached. ;)

Very, very nice!

It seems like an eternity since I was out taking photos. End-of-year workload left little free time. So I forced myself to get out and take some pictures. The uptown area of my town is loaded with small alleyways which hold some interesting opportunities seemingly out of character with the street front facade. This little "garage" was one example.

Loads of really great lines and textures in this photo. It's extremely crisp, was there any post used to bring that out?

Very interesting photo. I really like the many varied lines involved here, some leading down and to the right and countering lines flowing up to the right. Nice vision.

Sorry I missed your question about the watermark sneil2, I was not on the forum for a week. Others pointed out the possibility in LR, I do it in Aperture 3. It is a bit hidden in the export window, where you choose your "Export Preset". Click "edit" and a whole world opens up to create export settings. You have to fiddle a little with the suitable point size. I made the watermarks in Pixelmator. Once made it will be available as a preset.

Today testing my new (used) 20mm 2.8D prime. This is the ship "Delft" originally build in 1783 and sunken by the British :)mad:) in 1779. Some remnants are preserved, but volunteers are building the whole ship from scratch, an endless piece of work. Oak wood.

It was just unreal to get so close to this huge beast of a plane:

24mm, F/7.1, ISO400, 1/1600sec. That thing generates some enormous turbulence. :D 24 wheels are underneath that thing!

In ACR, I brought the clarity slider to the max. I think its effect is bringing a lot of details in the mid tones ?? It does bring a lot of details, but I'm not sure it does it only in the midtones.

Those alleys are great, I need to spend some more time walking through your town. You did a nice job with this photo.
