Looking at the Plum tree in our backyard as a reflection in one of our fountains.

Looks like you're enjoying your new kit John. Btw, how many fountains do you have on the estate? :D

Correction to my previous post...zero birds, one Muskrat and one water lilly.

Every last weekend in July the city of Butte (Montana) celebrates one of its famous (some locals say infamous) residents, the daredevil Evel Knieval. I did some street photography of Evel Knieval Days last evening. Here's a sample.

Haha yeah, it's tough to do a normal pose. Your photo is amazing, it looks so authentically old! It does look very 3d as well - just curious, what did you use to process it to black and white?

I used the genuine article, black and white film!

Developed at home in my kitchen as well.

Quite refreshing to know that I am responsible for the whole image!

Similar to the shot from before.

As always, comments appreciated!

Evel Knievel is a biking god. The bikes he used for those jumps just weren't fit for purpose compared to the sophisticated motocross machines of today, but he did it anyway. Evel and Barry Sheene were my idols when i started biking - probably the reason I started - and I'm still riding at 52. Must see if I can get over to Butte next year - I'd love to join in the celebrations.

That's a stunning photograph, even more so for being on film and totally processed by yourself. I cant help staring at the hand in the centre of the photo though - it looks like her fingers have been through a set of moving gears!

If you do, let me know; we'll do a double team to photo the events. There's a Brit here who saw Evel do his famous Wembley jump when he was 8 years old, who has a whole Knieval memorabilia display including the helmet Evel wore at Wembley.

If I can make it - and I will try - I will let you know well in advance - cheers.
The guy who has Evel's helmet is one lucky collector!

4 fountains, 2 ponds, 1 waterfall and a birdbath.

I loved the Muskrat picture and the waterlily was beautiful too.

Thanks John. When you mentioned "pond" I thought about my recent trip to Newfoundland. I think of a pond as a small water feature in the backyard with water lilies floating on the surface.

Newfoundland boasts Western Brook Pond. At 16 km long and 165 m at the deepest point and cliffs that rise straight up from the shore to a height of 600 m..."pond" is an understatement.

I'll post a shot if I ever get around to dealing with all that I took on vacation.

Our ponds are both natively planted, no lilies at all. I have to go to the botanic gardens for my fix. Since we created ours we have a thriving community of three types of frogs, which can be quite ruckus at times.

Woah, Western Brook Pond puts ours to shame! Might have to refer to ours as puddles now.

This is the only downfall to taking large amounts of pictures for hobbyists. The processing afterwards and the time it takes.

So... I tell the help , get the yard cleaned up , and don't forget to call the pool guy . But do they ever listen .... NO!!
