Great colour, Steamie, but the frond, dangling downwards, looks kinda 'disconnected'. Maybe it would work if you could have the greenery rising up from the bottom of the pic - then bending over with the droplet - rather than hanging down from the top. Just a thought...

I agree with Doylem but with addition:

1. Have you tried removing the current background and contrasting the shot against a dark background or one soft with complementary colors (in this case purples and greens)...of course you'd want to keep the flower in the water droplet wherever you arrange it.

2. I'd take a closer look at the drop and edit out anything that shouldn't be in there (in this case your hand--or at least that is what I am guessing it is).

3. Edit the flare out

I like the color and I like the detail on the leaf...overall I like the direction you are headed. :)

I've only been using the D60 for two or three weeks now, but I think this one turned out pretty cool. I didn't really intend for it to be cool or anything at the time.

I like this one. Had me staring at my screen much longer than usual. The bridge looks alive. A bit dark on my screen though.
What exactly did you do, it looks like I see an up and downward movement of the bridge.

Thanks. It's a 30 sec exposure at sunset of the bridge closing after letting a sailboat pass through. The bridge is just below the Ballard locks in Seattle.

  • Camera: Pentax K10D
  • Exposure: 0.006 sec (1/180)
  • Aperture: f/9.0
  • Focal Length: 90 mm
  • ISO Speed: 100

2nd time I've attempted this, turned out better than last time but still not what I'm looking for.

Wow, what a great shot. I like
