This aint no Windermere!

A photo from a hike in the back country in Haflway Lake Provincial Park about 120 km North of Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.

About 7 or 8 years ago, this area was devastated during what the weather boffins call a "weather event", the rest of us call a freakin' big wind storm.
Millions of trees were twisted and shattered. The growth around this pond looks "new' in that its all leafy stuff and not the pines and spruce... that will come in the next 100 years.

I'll try to post some of the better shots over the next few days.

Post processing with Aperture. I used a circular polarizer with this shot.

If the "geologic event" at Mt. St. Helens is anything to measure by, it'll be a lot quicker than 100 years to get the conifers back in and growing well.

Sunrise over Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia.
One of many many shots that morning.

From the top of a mountain in Banff,Alberta

Hope you like it.
I do like it. It's beautiful country, and you did it justice. This would go well really big on a wall... I like the slightly restrained colors... so often (including my own work) it's easy to oversaturate them. I wish I was there in the mountains see this in person.
