Don't let looks fool you...

Organic growing?

---------------------------------------------

Yes, just water, soil, air, and sun! We have some honey bees also to help with the pollination.

New one for Today...an unsuspecting hunter!

Sorry for the multiple posts. Just trying to figure out how to reply. Organic? Yes, just water, soil, air, and sun. We have honey bees also to help with pollination! Maybe I can post some results/progress thoughout the summer.

Really moody, in a good way!

One of my favourite Cumbrian churches, from the village of Newton Arlosh, close to the border with Scotland. It was built as a fortified church, in the 14th century, when cross-border raids were common. Villagers could round up their animals and take refuge in the tower. The door is tiny - just 31 inches wide - and easy to barricade...

Good to hear, we do the organic/permaculture thing here at our place on a domestic scale and we only eat local organic/free-range produce. So far we have been able to limit it all to being within 120 kilometres from us. Wheat is the furthest away, everything else is within about 40km.

I look forward to seeing your progress, keep up the effort.

A Sundew from a recent bird walk, about 20mm in diameter, for perspective. It would make a fantastic subject to get back to with a tripod and macro lens.

This year it seems like Cumbria is the place to be. <snip> The wind was so strong today that I had trouble keeping the camera still... even while on the tripod...

Nice shot Doylem. It looks and sounds like my home province, Newfoundland and Labrador. The the wind is rarely ever calm there. Locomotives have been blown off the tracks. My sister reported gusts to 135 kph one day this past winter. I wonder if that headland was named for Humphrey Gilbert. He was foolish enough to try to settle Newfoundland Isle at a place called Ferryland. I think his wings blew off and he went back home to England!.

It's crazy windy today isn't it! We've had nearly forty mph gusts down here in Luton today too. I took the dog for a walk over the fields and it was taking my breath away as I walked into the wind. That was when I'd found an hour when it wasn't tipping it down that is.

Summer Carnival today in a windy city. Had to be a bit more expressive in my PP to get an image I liked. First shots with my new 14-24mm f/2.8 :)
