Back when I was in my work trip touring general atomics…
Somewhere along Route 105 that goes directly between Boone and Linville there is a spot where it's possible to get a really nice view of Grandfather Mountain in "profile" so that you see where he gets his name. I forget the name of the little town (Foscoe?) where that spot is. Been too many years now since I've been to that part of NC!
Long time since I posted a picture, but I got a nice one to share. I call this one "water around milk giving animal".
I capture my first Cedar Waxwing bird and I think they are one of the coolest looking birds. Photo take at Hines Park in Wayne County.
