A typical Sunday morning@Kempegowda Tower, Lalbagh, Bengaluru, India. Dec 2012.

In observation of Kempegowda Jayanti today (Jun 27), marking the 516th birth anniversary of Bengaluru city's founder.
(which reminded me of this picture and hence this post.)

——— A bit of history and some details
Kempe Gowda I (1510-1569) was the founder of Bangalore city.
He built four towers that marked the limits of erstwhile Bangalore town. Many of the city's current lakes and markets and the Bull temple date back to this time.

The Lalbagh tower is one of the four towers marking the southern boundary of the original Bangalore city.
The Lalbagh Rock, one of the most ancient rock formations on earth, dating back to 3,000 million years (Peninsular Gneiss)
The Lalbagh Botanical Garden or simply Lalbagh (lit. 'red garden'), is a botanical garden in Bengaluru, India, with an over 200-year history.
