Mountain Chickadee

Probably one of the most photographed attractions in this city... so it's a shame one pane of glass is clouded by moisture - the city really ought to take better care of it! :(

The Gastown Steam Clock

(19) Past The Shore

Somehow, the last week or so in Duluth has been relatively warm.. and not just that, but incredibly beautiful. Even if its a cloudy and rainy day it seems that the fog on Superior is a perfect subject for a panoramic view.

Simple devices to measure the most valuable commodity we have... :)

Now, I'm not exactly happy with this: the DOF (at f2.8) is too narrow, rendering much of the various clock faces out of focus. :( I probably should have used f4 or f5.6 on this. Thoughts?

I think you need to look for another store display without the distracting foreground and bottle. ;) Then you'd have more control in how you can set your self up.

Your plane of focus seems to be in between the clocks. Perhaps choosing one clock face as the subject would give a more pleasing result.

This looks like an interesting challenge giving the flat faces, the angle your at, and the clock positions.

An interesting idea might be if the clocks were in a row front to back and the focus was on the middle clock. The middle would represent the now while the other two would represent the past and future.
