May in Western Montana means rain and still temps in the 40-50 range, which both are present as I type. So a little sunshine from central CA is called for:

Seen outside of the Village Idiot on Dundas and McCaul. Excellent bar with a wide variety of beers on tap. Great place to spend a warm and breezy summer night.

Is that a Hemerocallis (called day lily but it's not a lily)? It's really early—they're not out here yet; most don't come out until summer.

Unfortunately I won't be posting anything new for a while. House was robbed today and all of my gear was stolen, among many other things. :-(

Aghh, that's awful! :( So sorry to hear that. Happened to me a few years ago and I lost a camera and laptop. Hope you're covered. Don't let them get to you. Let me know how you get on.

A visitor in the back yard last night.

Beautiful! Didn't exactly take that with a p&s did you? :)

That would have made a great entry into Beauty in Unexpected Places! Only an artist/photographer would have spotted that.

Could someone please repeat the instructions for showing the picture being quoted now things have changed? I know it's around somewhere but can't find it. Maybe it could go with some of the instructions on the first page?

Sorry to hear, that's very unfortunate :(

Now the image automatically becomes part of a [URL =imageurlgoeshere]Image[/URL].
You'll want to extract the link, remove the URL tag and add [TIMG ]imageurlgoeshere[/img] (ignore the spaces I have here - it parses them otherwise). It's a bit less clear when timging quoting images from flickr because there are two urls - you want to change the inner-nested url.

Yeah, something on the first page would be good.

I was thinking... you could make a Safari/Firefox extension to automatically convert your post to use TIMGs rather than a URL tag.
If anyone wanted to have a go... should just be a bit of JS and regex substitution :)
I might give it ago in a few weeks when I get some spare time if nobody else does.

I would have much preferred they auto-timg'd images when quoting a post, rather than what they've implemented.

That just sucks... Sorry, man.

Awesome...

Yusef frequently fishes at Piedmont Park in Atlanta. I enjoyed meeting and chatting with him that afternoon/evening I spent walking around the park.

Thanks, Reef! Love your new photo by the way.

Sorry. I have great admiration for people can do this stuff, but I'm not one of them!

Me too. I notice that my ent photo and the post below it on page 11 have been "timg-ed". Reason: "changed oversized image from IMG to TIMG". It's the same size I normally use and the same as those around it. None of the others have been affected. Strange. There are a lot of Flikr photos that are no longer available too. Don't know if that's Flikr playing up again or people taking their photos down after a few days.

Oh man, that's sux big time. So sorry, as was said, hopefully insurance will help you get started again. Keep us posted and stay positive.

Thanks for the TIMG tip. I had to play around with it and kept editing until finally I tried loading one of my pictures and found out that you have to include the "http://" in front of the img. in the image stringer.

Reef, another beauty. With all this rain out here hopefully our grass with turn from brown to green soon.

Ish, I went through the same thing and figured out what I did wrong I guess just as you were posting! So yours showed up just after mine ;)

Yes, I had a chuckle to myself when I saw your post (and the edit comment!) and realised you'd been doing exactly the same as me. :)

A beauty, Rowbear. Now I can see why the Toronto baseball team has it's nickname.

Nice shot Rob!
Great colour, together with the sharpness of the bird against the blurry oof background it really makes the bird 'pop' (or should I say 'sing'... :p ).

Thanks folks :)

I love it. Every time I see these kind of shots, it reminds me how bad I am at seeing these kind of shots

World Trade Center: Rebuilding

Wow! Is it my imagination, or is the quality of photos improving??? Keep up the good work, folks!

Rymack: Best of luck to you in getting your gear back. There are many of us who are rooting for you!

Today's offering: 1 World Trade Center is already up to 60 stories! This was taken inside the Winter Garden, not far from the spot that originally connected it to the World Trade Center via a 400' footbridge. That footbridge was destroyed in the attack on September 11, 2001.

We were here during a tour organized by Tribute to WTC Visitor Center. Before that museum, we spent two hours at the "Must See," (especially for photographers!), the Ground Zero Museum Workshop.
