Very well done :)

Venus??? We can see it here in the western US. Still a very nice photo. The Carribean and now Spain! I want your job! ;)

You're probably right... Venus! I'll let her be. :). As for my travels, the Caribbean was pleasure but I do feel fortunate to get to Europe occasionally for work.

Love it. Great placement of elements here, and your B&W treatment works really well.

Reef, thank you, thank you. Praise from the likes of you and Rowbear mean a lot. I am pleasantly surprised by the positive response to this picture. It is an area that is normally inaccessible around here to the general public, at least not as up close as I was able to get. I was fortunate that the chain link gate to this area happened to be open and me with a camera in hand could not resist! That coupled with some great clouds in the sky sealed the deal.

... (should I clone out the planet or whatever it is in the upper left?)

No. It is part of the reality you were capturing. I'd be glad that I actually captured it. :D

You should be able to figure out which planet it is based on date, time, location and direction. The time stamp of 3:36:07PM would make that Venus. Other possibilities later in the evening are Mars and then Saturn.

For the week , there's 11 tall ships in New York Harbor , along with the usual collection of US and foreign contemporary naval vessels that appear every Memorial Day Weekend . Anyway , last time tall ships were here en masse was in 2000 , so , given the choice of pulling weeds in my yard or seeing the ships , the weeds got a reprieve until tomorrow .

I'm pretty far away too! Maybe, 200 feet or so!

My favorite animal, let alone bird: The Bald Eagle
