Reef, Rowbear, Hankster...thanks for the great comments about the old married couple shot. I might print that one for my wife on our next anniversary. :)

Mine for today is now one of my favourites...

Update: cloned out that blue roof. Thanks Cheese & Apple.

Post on this one has been challenging. One of those situations where the human eye / brain connection is effectively giving a better dynamic range than what the camera sensor can pick up. So this one required some post in Aperture to create two or three versions at differing exposure and contrast levels; then blending those together using Perfect Layers 3; then some tweaking in Viveza 2; and finally some selective sharpening with Sharpener Pro 3.

Beautiful shot AxisOfBeagles!

I hope you don't a comment: Because this is so well done, the shiny roof of the barn(?) about half way down the right side tends to stand out to me. I would clone that out if it has no significance to the shot.

Thanks for the kind words - always appreciated.

I agree - that blue roof is annoying and has zero to do with the landscape. I'm still tinkering to get rid of it. The clone/repair tool in Aperture doesn't always deliver clean results but I'll get it eventually. This particular photo has taken a lot of post work, but still needs some more finishing touches, like that one.

What do you think...an old married couple? :)

This is a great shot, lots of character. Could see this on a funny anniversary card.

I really like the texture in this. Only thing that bothers me is the lines aren't straight. Straighten it out a bit and you have a winner.

Some really talented bird photographers here. Nice colors and smooth background. That isn't always easy when it comes to birds.

A side channel on the western side of the Little Bighorn River, Garryowen, MT. Site of the large Indian village that Custer attempted to attack-quite unsuccessfully. Glad I brought my CP filter.

DesterWallaboo, are they a church/christian band?

No... they are a pretty decent cover band that play a lot of gigs around here.

Shot this one a couple years ago. Loved their facial expressions.

Okay, thanks for that, now the "No Limits" makes sense. The 14 year old writer/artist and I were talking about it as an overall design and came to the wrong conclusion!

Very cute.

The hills around the Black Sail hut...

Doylem, many of your pictures aren't showing for me.
I've had the same problem with imageshack, I find uploading the picture a 2nd time usually works.

I don't believe this is just me (but not everybody... I also see 2 likes on your latest pic), can anyone else confirm Doylem's pictures aren't showing?
