Nice! how far away was this taken from? (and where given background)

Thanks! I have just got my first DSLR (a200) and got a Tamron 70-300mm lens with it so I went to London Zoo to take it for a spin. Im really pleased with the results I got considering they are both 'budget' pieces of kit. Really enjoying my photography now. This was taken at 300mm.

Welcome.

Wow, love the bird pictures. How do you guys get it so close, are you guys using a 200mm-400mm lens?

Its so clear that is so beautiful. Love the detail on the feathers, this is one of those things that a PnS can never match.

I used a 55-200mm Lens on my Nikon D40 at 200mm. He was relatively close to begin with though (<1.5 meters?)

Our little halloween party got a little out of control. I handed the camera to my wife before I climbed in the coffin and told her to just keep taking photos. :)

Haha thanks! And it's great to see a different shot out of you! I still love those surf shots! I just wish I was near a great place to take some!

Thailand - Aug 08. My little boy, whining cos he can't play with daddy's camera! Canon 1000D (XS) with kit lens 18 - 55.

Aww what a meanie!!! :D

Kyle? you hit the DOF nail on the head with that shot, very cool & digitalfrog, perfect timing and exposure as mentioned. That's a really nice handheld shot TheReef!

Here's a natural light shot I took of the carats from yesterday's wedding. This is from the JPEG, I'll probably tweak the exposure a little on the RAW in Aperture.

Wow, November is great, I'm seeing a lot of good shots. Love the scenery pics.

I like the bumblebee photo, really nice, freeze in motion. Sweet.
The lego one is funny.
Love the black and white photo :D

I like it, great composition,
The darkest front post is a little distracting.

The oblique morning light was challenging...I blame my kit lens.;)

So far, I have been nearly useless at capturing motion in photos, I'm only getting results with static landscapes, macro shots and so forth.

I love looking at everyones' photos, they're great.

I just got my 50d last week and am still getting used to being able to shoot at up to 200mm. For some reason I've started to take photos of birds, even though I hate the things!! :D

Technically not taken in November, but I just got home from a three day trip to study invertebrate communities and this pic was one of the few that made my day. :)
