I love the simplicity, just air and water: powerful, elemental... a little bit mysterious...

Thank you for your very interesting comment Doylem. Interesting because I believe that "powerful, elemental... a little bit mysterious..." are the primary reasons that people visit the falls from around the world and those that live closer, return year after year.

I'm looking forward to returning in February when our temperatures are at their lowest and the perpetual mist creates an icy wonderland in the area surrounding the falls.

Cheers

Slightly confused by your settings on this one. Why ISO 3200 when you could have easily stopped down to f/4 and still had hyperfocal distance at 15 odd feet!

I honestly wasn't even paying attention to my settings. I was just getting into photography at the time and was just playing around with bulb mode - it didn't even cross my mind at that point. Next time I will definitely keep that in mind.

Here is one of the fall colors in Rockies I took last month.

So I was having dinner with some of my friends recently and we had to pay the exceptional price of 600 ... Danish Kroner ;) That's just about 100$, nevertheless I had to take a photo of it

Not only one of my favourite authors but an outstanding shot as well...VERY COOL sonor! A portrait of graceful age and wisdom.

Thanks Cheese&Apple. Yes - we spent an interesting half-hour chatting about "Winter Of The World"...and music. When he's not writing hefty million-selling novels, he plays bass in a blues band.

Here's another fairly successful author...

Nice, but have you tried a tighter crop? If you lose the headlight it gets more abstract. And more interesting in my opinion.

I played with that, but it was the overall effect of the strong diagonals that really did it for me! I'll have another go at it tonight and see if I can tickle your fancy though... ;)

Doylem, you are slowly illustrating Arthur Ransome's books for me. It is a credit to you both that your images match the pictures in my imagination :)

Serene photography. Thank you.

Haven't posted in a while as I've been busy getting new body of work as well as finishing my website.

Shot at the Gold Creek Basin in Snoqualmie Pass

3 exposures blended together using multiple exposure blending techniques, luminosity selections and other advanced masking to extend the dynamic range. I created a photoshop tutorial video to demonstrate the process

Train trip from NYC to Providence. Was playing with long exposures (which I've done before on a similar trip in the past). Liked this image. Somewhat surreal. Not one of my best images overall. But still liked it enough to post.

I just spent a couple of intense months without any time to get out for some photography. But now autumn color is peaking here, leaving me with only one reasonable course of action: play hooky!

Here's one I shot just yesterday…
