I just spent a couple of intense months without any time to get out for some photography. But now autumn color is peaking here, leaving me with only one reasonable course of action: play hooky!

Here's one I shot just yesterday…

Beautiful Phrasikleia.

Doylem, you are slowly illustrating Arthur Ransome's books for me. It is a credit to you both that your images match the pictures in my imagination :)

Serene photography. Thank you.

Thank you. But it gets better. I live just a mile away from Low Ludderburn, the house that Arthur Ransome shared with his wife, Eugenie, Trotsky's secretary. Ransome had the most amazing live, before settling down to write children's books... like an early version of James Bond!

Welcome back, Phrasiklea...

On the tops, yesterday. That's Windermere in the distance...

Stunning, Phrasikleia. Subject and composition... stunning.

Thanks, kallisti. Nice to see that you're still posting here.

Thanks, Doylem. I tend to go AWOL when I have no new photos to share. After a while, looking at all of the great pics here becomes too much for me to handle. It makes me feel like I'm in the middle of the Sahara with hallucinations of spring water tormenting me.

The Lakes District is very pretty with Fall color. Your photo makes me want to step in and go for a long walk.

Stunning, Phrasikleia. Subject and composition... stunning.

Thanks, lizardofwoz. I had a lot of fun taking that one.

Autumn leaves - Elmdon Park, Solihull.

I like the pattern that starts in the upper left with the bokeh and curves across the frame.

Nice one P!

Same to you, Reef! I love the lavender hues in your photos. That's one color that I seem to have trouble finding when I'm out shooting.

I realy love that shot !!

Thanks Rowbear! Funny how things go...

That was a very lucky snap shot. The lighting was tricky as the sun was just coming up over the rim of the falls. The light was reflecting off the water yet the gorge was in deep shadow. I was metering to plan some shots when my wife said: "Look at the geese". I had just enough time to squeeze off two frames before they disappeared into the mist.

On top of that, we left Toronto at 5:00 am to catch the sun-rise. I was on my third cup of coffee and had to pee so bad but didn't want to miss a moment...

Bottom line...I thought it was my best shot of the day. Glad you like it. :)

Very nice photo. And an excellent mushroom! That kind is called Jurček here in Slovenia (Porcino in English). I hope you picked it and ate it; they are delicious! :)

thank you Mrs. P. We did pick and eat it, but left it in the forest. It's called Eekhoorntjesbrood in the NL, btw. ( translation: squirrel bread ).

One Life Live It

So I went offroading yesterday with a mate in his Range Rover. This was a snap I took of it about a quarter way through the day. Its one Extremely robust vehicle. Especially since water filled up inside to knee height at some parts of the route LOL. She still kept going strong even the heaters kept working. The only thing what did break was the drivers electric window motor.

This Range Rover started out in life as a 3 door Range Rover classic, which he then cut down shorter. Its also had its petrol V8 removed for a Disco TDI engine.

After yesterday I'm in the market for one now if one ever becomes cheap enough LOL.
